The BBC have posted a picture of another Michael Bailey (completely innocent young guy) on their website. Apology to follow and legal action

Yeah but let's not forget Neil Lennon has brought all of this on himself and that for someone like Diouf to be racially abused is obviously outrageous as Diouf has never done anything that would possibly cause anyone to have any ill feeling towards him :87:
On a side note, I don't defend what he did, I don't defend a lot of what Celtic fans sometimes sing about, we can be at times as bad as anyone else. There has genuinely been times while i've been watching Celtic (never at Celtic Park I may add, normally in England) that have made me consider whether or not to go back, I think the worst one was at The Emirates. I know everyone is entitled to their political beliefs but we always make it out to be the minority of Celtic fans with those feelings (ie the poppy banners) but on that day it was no minority, and for someone like myself who has had family and friends in the army it's quite hard to stomach. When it happens you kind of feel like that's what it is to be a Celtic fan, but why is it? I know all the history and i've done quite a bit of research on the IRA and why it was formed etc so I do see the justification for the beliefs etc but I don't see much justification in abusing a group of people (a lot of which are just boys themselves and probably some Celtic fans) in the way we did that day was pretty shameful (In my opinion). At the end of the day I am of the opinion that if WW3 breaks out it will be the British Army defending me and my family and yours, I don't think the IRA will.
We will probably be seen as worse than Rangers forever because we are the minority. We're fighting against Britain and everything British in Britain, where most people by the way are British so it will always be publicised more.
The one and only way for us to have our club making positive headlines is to shut them up and do the business on the pitch, win everything we're involved in, doing it the real Celtic way, with the best fans in the World, then they have no option to publish positive headlines and praise us. We all know the Scottish media is against us and this I believe is the only way to fight it.

i think its clear the way the media and authorities are going to do this clampdown is to be very public about arrests and the chastising of celtic supporters so that the bigots that support rangers (which there are many) dont feel as if their being picked upon.

but we shouldn't think we havent got a problem because we have our own idiot fans and when i was a boy i used to sing stupid sectarian songs probably like many of us, that was 30 years ago however.

The club have for a good number of years been chipping away at the bigots and undesireable chanting, to which end year after year we put the other side to shame.
I like to think our support have been educated

but we have to make sure there is no resurgence of this nonsense like there was a tyncastle last season, it will damage our club

    Let the people sing,
Get it up him, deserves all he gets.

I noticed he called rangers fans 'packi lovers' - which poses the question is he mentally stable? In all honesty i have yet to find a racially tolerant rangers fan.

I don't regard it as racist, to be honest, but entirely agree with your sentiments.

I really wish that some of the holier than thou posters on here would take a reality check.

Not all Celtic fans are Left-Wing.

Not all Celtic fans are prone to liberal thought.

Not all Celtic fans sing Boys of the Old Brigade because it is a part of Irish culture but simply because of the IRA connotations.

Get your head out of your arses and stop trying to pretend that, en-masse, we are very different from Rangers. Both clubs have idiots following them, both clubs have those of left-wing or right-wing persuassion and both clubs have some very decent people working for and supporting them.

    Not all Celts are saints.
