Agreed. I suppose we have lost one player in a position we have a lot of cover for and gained one for a position we are really struggling in (central midfield-Lenny, Grav and JJ just are not impressive at moment) and financially they cancel each other out.

bollocks to that,the greedy little * had ONE GOOD SEASON and the rest of the time he's been injured,i told you months ago when you said he wanted to play for celtic and would sign a new deal,that he couldn't care less about celtic and would go where the money is.

There is no loyalty in football anymore ,and what makes me so mad about the whole maloney situation is the fact he's been collecting his wages while injured for 90% of his celtic career,then has a decent season last season and all of a sudden he thinks he can walk on water,and we should pay through the nose for him

as far i'm concearned good riddance,i don't want a player like that round my club ,i only want players that will fight for the shirt and not some jumped up little *,giving bad ideas to the younger players in the squad

 

Totally agree. I must admit when I saw we got 1 million for Maloney I was surprised. With Hartley costing 1.1 I think a good piece business. We got rid of a player who's head obviously got too big and we have plenty of options in his position. Personally I am more then happy with McGeady on the left there and we brought in a good strong player for the center to increase our options there.

 

i am gutted as thought he was and will become a great player ,agree wih most of mails if he doesna want to play for celtic * him,

 

he was player of the year last year..but now he's gone..seems like we will always struggle to keep the young quality players who could go on and become stars for this club

personally he never seemed to get to play in the role this year whihc made him the player of the year last year..a forward striker

seems Strachan didn't really value him...even after last years perfromances for Strachan/O'Neill

personally a wee young player who we have reared and at 24 he ain't so young, is better than the likes of Hartley, Graveson, Caldwell Wilson and co that we ahve brought in.

Lets look at the positives, we've spent less than £ 500,000 in the window and got 3 new players, Maloney's transfer all but pays for Hartley, Pressley was free, and Doumbe was a cheap accusition as well, also we have got rid of another football mercenery who is injury prone and apart from one season, fairly inconsistent.
To the Villa fan above, you can have both Petrov, Maloney and even Bobo if you like, we're more than covered for these guys and their greedy agents.

 

players have short memories, i wonter if maloney remembers when he did his knee in, who kept paying him and gave him a new contract??

 

itll be the same story with mcgeady next year when his contract expires.
