The new seasons kicks off in Australia on March 18th. Raikkonen and alonso are the early favourites but i think it will be very close this season. Should be good, can't wait.

18th March is when it'll all kick off!

I can't wait, as a big Ferrari and Michael Schumacher fan I'm very interested to see how Kimi does. Remember that Massa got close to Schumi on various occasions last year so I don't think he can be discounted if Kimi fails to make an impression at Ferrari.

I can't see Honda being title challengers this year and I think that Renault will fade away without Alonso but I look forward to be pleasantly surprised!

Lucky you! It's always a great race & loads of excitement as it's the first. Have you got tickets for a specific part of the track or can you come and go (well to an extent of course)?

I got a general admission ticket, I just wont have a seat in the stands AFAIK, so I'll sit where ever there a good view.

I can go all around the pits etc when they are allowing the people to do so

used 2 be nuts about F1 and ferrari...but its more the talent of the machine than the man now imo..

seems like anyone can win once they the best car:87: ...the days of talent like Senna are dead it seems

btw.. me skin and blister lives in austrailia and went 2 the aussie grand prix 2 years ago and said it waz deadly...

btw.. she probably never left the bar anyway:56: :56: :56:

I don't think it's all about having the best car, there is still a lot of skill required to stay on the track at 200mph. The best way I think to measure the skill of the driver is to look at his teammate who is in essentially the same car. For example Alonso was usually much further ahead of Fisichella and Raikkonen out performed Montoya on a regular basis. It'll be very interesting to see Raikkonen v Massa & Alonso v Hamilton.

I'd love to go to the Monaco GP or Spa :50:

    aye :84:

Ferrari did do that with Schumacher and Irvine and latterly with Barichello and to a lesser extent Massa (although Massa out qualified Schumacher and indeed won a couple of races last year). McLaren also did it during the Hakkinen era when Ron Dennis obviously preferred Hakkinen to Coulthard and also seemed to favour Kimi over Montoya (although I believe Montoya and Ron Dennis didn't get on very well off track). However, despite all this I don't think that the so called "second" drivers get any different equipment than their teammates and F1 drivers, as any sportsmen are, are very competitive - I don't think any would put up getting anything less than their teammate.

It'll be interesting to see how McLaren adapts to having Alonso and Hamilton in the team. Hamilton is Dennis' protege but Alonso is the double world champion so the dynamics could be a bit strange!

Some driver's cars are given more setup time by the engineers. e.g. Schumacher over Eddie and Rubens. So a driver can have a "better" car than his teammate. It happens usually when there is a no.1 driver and a no.2, some teams put them on equal pegging but that doesnt last long
