Wolves at Paradise would attract 15,000-20,000 at best!

Should be on the season book though eh?

Was a decent enough turnout for the Blackburn friendly last year.

    http://www.expressandstar.com/sport...6/28/wolves-to-play-at-celtic-for-first-time/

Wolves will play Celtic in a pre-season friendly at Parkhead next month.

The game between the clubs will take place on either Tuesday July 26 or Wednesday July 27.

It depends on which night Rangers have their Champions League preliminary round home qualifier, as Glasgow police won’t allow the Old Firm teams to play on the same night.

The Champions League draw is on July 15, so supporters will have to wait to confirm plans.

Wolves’ second successive pre-season trip north of the border sandwiches Saturday friendlies at Notts County and Ipswich.

But it’s the game at the 60,000-capacity Celtic Park, 12 months after Wolves’ 2-0 friendly win at Hearts, that will set fans’ tongues wagging.

It will also be a special night for manager Mick McCarthy, who remains a popular figure with Bhoys fans after a successful two years there as a player from 1987 to 1989, winning the Scottish double in 1988 and the Scottish Cup a year later.

Wolves played Celtic in a friendly in 1959 to celebrate the opening of the Scottish club’s flooflights. They ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Peter Broadbent and Jimmy Murray.

    the comments are interesting aswell

"TROUBLE expect it banning orders dont count up there + they hate the english i think its a bad idea but maybe the fact its midweek might put people off travelling."

"There won’t be trouble guys! Glasgow on a week night is a great place to go and get a beer and watch a football match especilly at Parkhead….now if we were playing Ranger’s over in Goven….that would be a different kettle of fish for sure!!
Anyway there will be more Celtic fans looking to say hello again to Big Mick,as he is well respected by Celtic fans.
I expect a few deals to start coming through as it will be 1st July in a couple of days and lots of deals can get completed by clubs. Mills still not sure..we need Premiership quality players to bring expierience to our defence. As we have all been saying LB and 2 CB and another centre midfield creative player.
    UTW!!"

Welcome to the forum mate and I hope you enjoy the game :50:

Always had a soft spot for wolves for some reason, if i had to pick a team in the prem to support it would probally be wolves, good set of fans and not a bad team either, apart from elokobi obviously :56:

Can't top that but Wolves will always be my 'English team' mostly because of the nice way I was treated when arrested in Great Bar!

Same here, ill have the Celtic scarf on. More than likely be in the away end with all my mates, but its just a laugh anyway. Cant wait. Should be a great day. Lots of Celtic/Woves fans anyway so i expect it will be a good friendly atmosphere.

Already got the text from the casual wolves element about they may make the trip, bringing along the ulster flag, but please dont let that tarnish the general wolves fans as 99% are good well behaved people who dont care about that sort of thing and will just be there for the Celtic experience.

    Wolves - Home Pre-Season - 26th/27th July

    http://celticfc.net/newsstory?item=1222

    Wolves heading for Celtic Park
HOOPS centenary year legend, Mick McCarthy is bringing his Wolves side north of the border later this month for the big pre-season clash of the summer at Celtic Park.

The English Premier League club will return to the East End of Glasgow for the first time since the opening of Celtic Park’s floodlights in 1959 with the game set for either Tuesday, July 26 or Wednesday, July 27 (dependent on Rangers’ European draw being played in Glasgow on one of these dates).

Mick McCarthy returns to the ground where he was a hero of the centenary double-winning side of season 1987/88 in what was a memorable era for the defender as a member of that successful Celtic side and a magnificent Republic of Ireland outfit.

Of course, he went on to manage the Republic side before returning to club management and he has been pulling the reins at Molineaux since 2006.

Celtic first played Wolves on May 17, 1890 and recorded a 4-2 with the next visit by the Midlands side not arriving until September 20, 1954 when both sides played out a 3-3 draw.

That tied match came a year after Celtic’s only visit to Wolverhampton when they lost 2-0 on October 14, 1953.

The most famous game, though, was that match on October 12, 1959 when the then English champions beat a youthful Celtic side 2-0 with a 45,000 crowd taking in the Monday night match.

Tickets for the match are available at £15 for adults and £5 for concessions and the game is also a season book match.

New to the whole "season book match" senario, is this match included in with your season ticket for free? cheers:50:
