What it says on the tin.

"Orange rules explicitly prohibit members from attending a Roman Catholic service."
So Catholics cant join, surly that is clearly Sectarianism?

Don't know if ye have heard yet but they are getting down the Crumlin Road in Belfast on the 12th of July. This is the parade which starts the rioting every summer.

Too true. I know a couple off lads who are medics in a Belfast so every 12th they nip into the chapel and fill their water bottles with holy water. They always hope its a scorcher so they can say here brother have a drink of this. They spend most of the day * themselves laughing as they're constantly thanked for quenching a fellow "brothers"thirst on such a hot day.:icon_mrgreen:

Scratch the surface and you'll find Scotland is full of bigoted scum who love nothing more than to get it up Timmy, and embrace Protestant superiority. Scotland is an orange backwater.

    There's your answer.

I have no doubt in my mind that those sad * that go on these marches and are members of this sad little society, are warped in their thinking, but for you to label all of Scotland as an orange backwater, is ridiculous. For every protestant that has a superiority complex, there is a catholic with an inferiority complex.....and vice versa!
What are you actually saying here mate...that bigotry is inherent in protestants only?Is it genetic? How many people actually participate on these marches?5000?10000?......what is that as a % of the protestant population?
I agree they are ridiculous and the little i know of them tells me they are clearly bigoted, but they are a small group. The vast majority of Scottish protestants dont give a * about the orange order. It is a Northern Ireland problem that has spilled into Scotland, and those of NI descent in Scotland are primarily the followers.
    Before i posted this i looked up the numbers.They vary in Scotland, but 20000 would be a large estimate!Out of 4 000 000 protestants! 1 in 200.
Obviously Rangers fans of teenage and young men age with generally low IQ's may follow these marches, but how many of them actually set foot in a church?
So when you say Scotland is FULL of these bigoted scum, i think you are exaggerating in the extreme. Those arseholes that participate in these embarrassing parades are not representative of Scotland, but of a small minority sub section of protestantism. You may be surrounded by them where you live...but the numbers dont lie, and according to what i have just read, they are falling yearly.

I personally dont know what can be done about them, as i dont like the idea of marches being banned in a free society, but i think maybe protest marches could be separated from celebratory marches such as these. There is no place for them. However, i remember asking in here not long ago, if any catholic would sacrifice separate schools in return for all marches, whether orange or republican, being banned.......i didnt get more than a few (if that) replies. Not that the two have a direct correlation.

Nothing new there really. Catholic cant marry a member of the Royal Family without them losing place to the throne or become Prime Minister either...

but i suppose you cant get a protestant pope so maybe it all evens out (or im just drunk)
