It was a masterclass in marketing and how to make a * load of money.

Mayweather touched Pacs face more times than pac touched his.

    Masterclass in boxing my hoop.

    Load of * and expected.

If Mayweather thinks he deserves to be mentioned alongside Ali he needs his head checked.

    Seen this post..

"I think Floyd won easily and has always been better than Pacquiao, finally the debate is over, we can all move on and decide where Floyd ranks in the top five of all time boxers."

If he thinks that ends the debate he's deluded:smiley-laughing002: It still doesn't answer who would of one had Floyd not run away from a fight with prime Pacquaio. And he did.

That'll never be forgot and will always be held against him by most boxing fans unless your a Mayweather fan.

Ps, he's not in the top 5. Before last nights fight many wouldn't have him above Manny, so what makes last nights fight move into the to 5 ever:smiley-laughing002:

Is there a single Mayweather fight that you'd rewatch for entertainment?

Aye a good few, Castillo, Del La Hoya, Cotto , and Hernandez fights and a few more worth watching.

I have most of his fights on copy DVDs as a have many other boxers, am a fan of him as i Manny but last nights fight meant nothing as far who was the greatest of them two.

I respect what he's done in the sport but the whole avoiding Pacquiao was obvious and many won't forget it.

No matter what you think of Floyd, he made Manny look pretty ordinary in the end. De La Hoya and Hatton both gave him more problems than Manny did and it was a routine victory.

People that are saying Floyd just 'ran away' is simply sour grapes and the amount of people claiming Manny actually won is just plain daft.

Floyd is a *, but he knows how to win a fight, he didn't even break sweat.

Manny was poor and looked jaded fairly early.

Id say he knows how not to lose boxing matches in style, rather than how to win fights.

When I think of people winning a 'fight' I imagine them beating and inflicting punishment on others. Mayweather more avoids getting beat and doing it in a style that makes it look easy but hardly anyone ever loses a 'fight' in reality to him as in they go away with their tail between their legs after a skelping embarassed they just get cleverly outboxed.

    Tell that to Ricky Hatton.

He went home with the imprint of the corner post on his face. :smiley-laughing002:

No matter what you think of Manny, he did hurt Floyd a couple of times. And that's from a fighter who lost a lot of power in his punches from 5 years ago when he was in his prime. If you disagree with that it's just sour grapes tbh.

Floyd landed more punches, but his fairy hands never had the power to hurt him.

See that straight right punch from Manny in the 4th round that stunned Mayweather ... A cant mind Hatton ever landed one like that on Mayweather.

But all though a fully expected Mayweather on points, a still expected more from Pacquaio. He seems to be lacking in his usual stamina and few more abilities that made him so incredible dominant in his peak. So a agree with you he did look jaded early on which never happens.

How you can say Floyd never ran away is laughable. You keep telling yourself that and you might start to believe it:smiley-laughing002:

I think Pacquaio underperformed even by his own standards. I think his corner have to take a share of the blame too. They were so obsessed with matching and breaking Mayweather's style that Manny forgot to fight in his own unique way. I personally don't think this fight does Pacquaio justice.

That being said, are there any better defensive boxers than Floyd in the history of boxing?

Even though Mayweather has said he is the best ever, I do not think he ever claimed to be the most entertaining.

His record speaks for itself, boring or not, nobody he has faced has managed to beat him. Should this have happened 5 years ago? For us fans - yes. For Mayweather - no. He does not care what others think about him and taking the fight now was 10x better for him financially.

Can you really make a claim like you are the best ever fighter in the sport and then just say 'I don't care what anyone else thinks' when people disagree?

I don't believe it was better for him financially now either. It was simply not as big a fight as it would have been, even though it was obviously still huge. the Pacquiao of 2009/10 was proper jaw-dropping viewing, I mean you have to remember he came into the Oscar, Cotto and Hatton fights as the underdog and dismantled them all in ways that we had never seen before. A lot of casual boxing fans will gave Mayweather praise because of the huge hype involved, but for this but the more hardcore fans the win has a huge asterix beside it. Give the man credit for sure but it's not just not the same as going 10 rounds to 2 against a peak Pacquaio. It's why Floyd has to open up his post-fight press conference by saying "He's got a lot left." It's the elephant in the room. In the buildup everyone said one guy had to be himself and the other had to find his vintage form

To stake a claim to being the greatest ever the fans have to bestow that honour on you. You can't just call yourself the greatest then that's that.

You will find very, very few people mentioning him above guys like Ali, Sugar Ray, Louis or Rocky Marciano.

One judge gave mayweather a lead of 8 rounds though it was a lot closer than that.

I thought there was 8 points in it to be honest. Fight went pretty much exactly as I expected, and if that happened, Mayweather was always going to win. Unfortunately, he was just too good for him.

To good at what though? Running?:smiley-laughing002:

A know people that had a Pacquiao win. People will a judge a fight by who was the aggressor and tried to make things happen. Which was clearly Manny. Manny hurt Floyd a few times, Floyd never hurt him.

Am same as you though a had Floyd win an UD. Nothing great but he did enough to win most of the rounds.

Only seen the fight once, I'll give it 2nd watch to see if i see it any different, without the beer goggles on:56:

He was too good defensively for Pacquiao, who was the aggressor, yet still landed nowhere near the same amount of punches. Even in the 6th round, which I had as Pac's easily, he still didn't land as many. Mayweather just totally took the sting out the fight, as he was always going to try and do. Anyone who had Pacquiao down as the winner was watching a different fight. There could be no complaints, and I was surprised 2 of the judges had it as close as they did.
