I really want him to get called up for Scotland, very useful player and an absolute wand of a left foot.

They have actually twisted his words :97:

He merely stated he might be able to play for the USA through his gran.

Mulgrew should have been tried out during the Carling Cup imo.

He said: "What can you do - apart from play away and hope international football will come? There is nothing I can do except work hard and hopefully catch the manager's eye.
"I qualify to play for the United States through my gran but I haven't heard anything about that. Maybe I would consider it, I don't know. I would prefer Scotland but I am focusing on Celtic for now."

thats his words and the daily ranger spins it yet again

If he cant get in the Scotland team I doubt he would get anywhere near the USA side. Still, neither would be better as he would have less chance of getting injured.

Cant imagine him every being a Scotland regular TBH but I dont really agree with shopping around in terms of what country you represent.

I can actually, he can play a * of a lot of positions and with the amount of injuries and call offs from International football these days I could see him managing to cement his place. Big, strong and some cross on him.

Seems right up Leviens street to me.

Not so sure. IMO he is not a strong enough defender. I could maybe see Levein play him LMF given Leveins defensive mindset.

As opposed to Craig Levein scouting around the world to see which players he can find which are eligble for Scotland?

    Works both ways.

If Charlie opts for the USA (if viable), without contact from the Scottish camp, then good luck to him.

Would be good to have one of our Bhoys being represented over there, especially with the new friendship set-ups with the American clubs:50:
