I don't think Jelavic will be with them past next Christmas to be honest.

1st off they could get 5 other loan signings, also weir is not the reason they got 93 points he was the week link, also they spent what 4 million last summer and won the league....

2nd this team could not beat that team last season, mnoney needs to be spent penny pinching has cost us the title for 3 seasons when the right time to invest came up, and the time is right again to invest, or do we wait and see again for the 4th season to see if we beat them, you sound like a yes man board memeber IMO

if you had seen other posts that i made i also said about us needing a GK, CB and a target man, but would also like to see a RM aswell and if we got the chance to sign a really good player with quailty someone like niko we should

we can't be more prudent this season we have been for the last 3 years and we have handed them a life line in around 30 million with winning and champions league money

Not an area we need to strengthen can't see a player of his quality wanting to ply his trade in the SPL. Never know in football tho but this one seems like a non-starter.:shamrock:

In football, every area can be strengthened. That , for me, has been the problem at Celtic for years now. We had a chance 3 seasons ago to put the boot into the huns when Strachan was in charge and we refused to buy Fletcher, a player now worth several million, because we thought we didnt need to strengthen.

All top clubs look to strengthen every season, in every position. I dont believe for a minute that Krancjar will come here, but if he does then great , he will really push our midfield and create healthy competition. We dont know what will happen with Kayal, or Ledley, or Ki for that matter.

Remember there is no such thing as an area we dont need to strengthen. In fact , the more I think about it, midfield probably is an area we could look at. We havent had a decent goalscoring midfielder for some seasons now and Krancjar might fit the bill (I dont count Commons who is more of a winger).

I know Weir is not the reason Rangers got 93 points, there was millions of factors. That would be like saying Sammy was the reason for missing the penalty. What I am saying is that a team which was built over 4 and peaked at 93 points is completely different to a team with; a new owner, new board, new manager and half the remnants of a team which peaked after 4ish years at 93 points. They spent more than that, 4mill only covers Jelavic's signing fee never mind his wages and the loanees wages and beattie etc. 5 mill ain't that much.

It is just my opinion that the money should be prudently spent this season. Any saved maneuver should be spent next season on a couple of Niko quality signings to make inroads on europe. To be honest I think Celtic are one of the best run clubs in the UK so your likening me to them is more of a compliment :celt_2:

We already have 8 players who can play RM and one of them is the club captain. How would you balance that ?

Yeah we've handed them lifeline after lifeline I agree but they've still managed to turn the place into the opposite of a tight ship. And yeah we should sign 3 players of said positions. If the possibility of getting a player of Kranjcar's quality comes along then I would be disappointed if we settled for less.
But I still stand by my opinion that we should not sign Kranjcar.

brown was found out when rangers changed to a 442 and he was always cutting inside, also the only other player who for me mabe good enough at right mid is forrest but he needs time, now the rest are not good enough or we would not be playing a CM there, like somene else pointed out in a post above, even the best teams add to make themselfs better adding quailty

    2nd part in bold

can't get that if we could get a player like him you would be disapointed if we never got them and then say we still should not go for niko? bit mad?

Top player but we are getting rid of Juarez and bringing in Wanyama, only if Kayal goes then should we sign Krancjar but it should not be our priority,it should be a GOALIE!

Opportunities arise in football, in the blink of an eye, of course you can prioritise certain areas but failing to grasp an opportunity would be crazy.

Hypothetical situation alery. When Lennon was available at Leicester, what if O'Neill had said 'let's go and sign a top class keeper (which fans cried out for at the time and something he should have done anyway) and leave Lennon as Lambert already plays in his position. We would have missed out.
