Alot of balls just to unsettle him i think

Scottish player of the year Emilio Izaguirre is said to be the subject of interest from French clubs Paris St-Germain and Bordeaux.
In an interview published by French website sport.fr, Izaguirre is quoted as saying that he is aware of interest from several clubs, including PSG and Bordeaux and that although he is happy at Celtic, the prospect of playing in Ligue 1 is “an interesting challenge”.
“I know that observers from the PSG and Bordeaux came to see me several times,” Izaguirre is quoted as saying.
“I know that Ligue 1 is a top level championship. To come and play in the championship of France could be a very interesting challenge.”
The left-back reflected on his first season in Scotland, saying how much he had enjoyed the experience and thanking Celtic for handing him an opportunity. He added: I feel I have come a long way since my arrival here. The staff is very good and my teammates really helped me settle quickly.”
However, the Honduran said that he was aware that he had raised his profile and was being monitored by other clubs.
“English clubs, Spanish, German, Portuguese and French among others came to see my matches with Celtic,” he revealed. “Despite the talk, I'm not yet decided on my future.
“I can stay at Celtic, or leave, the final decision would have to please everyone. I know that clubs like Liverpool and Villarreal are interested, I'm flattered to be observed by the clubs of this size.”
Izaguirre joined Celtic from Honduran club Motagua last summer and is under contract at Parkhead until the summer of 2014. At the end of the SPL season he travelled back to Honduras to join his national team for the Gold Cup but a torn tendon ruled him out of the competition. Celtic have allowed him to remain in his homeland to receive treatment on the injury but he is expected to return for the beginning of the new season

French reporting is notorious for being mis quoted. Also doesnt sound a bit like anything that Izzy would come away with.

Smells like *, not worried in the slightest. Only league that could afford what we would want is the EPL. Ignore.

If he said that, sounds like he wants away. He's probably been misquoted though so not too worried.

The thing is PSG was recently bought by those qatar bilioners, so they can offer him alot of money if they realy interested.

I guess the speculation about Kayal and Izzy wont stop 'till the end of the transfer window, we just need to be strong:rolleyes:

I think you will find the french league can very much afford large singings, Lyon bought Lopez for over 25 million if i remember correctly so i think they could quite easily afford Izzy if they wanted to.

Im not worried about that. He has THREE years left on his contract....cant just leave unless Celtic get the money they want...and if he wants to go....thats up to him!!!

Think its more bull * to be honest.

This is the way of the world unfortunately but think on the positives. All foreign players will now view Celtic as a viable stepping stone and this can only be good for the team and business. Smart strategy all round from Celtic.

    A better league.

As clubs however, they can't hold a candle to Celtic.
