Me and few mates are planning to go to Glasgow on Celtic vs ICT match on September 24th... so can you recommend hostels in Glasgow - which are either close or have good transport connection with Celtic Park? Tnx

I haven't stayed in any hostels in Glasgow but know of a couple which could be useful.

Eurohostel - Next to Central station, you can not be more central than here. Buses/Trains/Taxi's to Celtic Park are very easy to get from here, you could even walk it (30 mins maybe?) On your doorstep is all of Glasgows shopping and a good selections of it's central bars and clubs too.

Bluesky Hostel - Located near Charing Cross (Berkley Street), always seems popular and lively when i pass. Walking distance to all city centre pubs/clubs/cafes etc... and walking distance or a short taxi ride to the west end of town which is good for a night out or shopping at day time. Again you can get to Celtic Park easily from here (Trains from Exhibition Centre station, buses and taxis)

This hostel is in the west end of Glasgow, which some people would say is the best place to enjoy yourself. Plenty of different nationalities nearby, also this hostel will be close to student flats as Glasgow University is nearby. Not that far away from city centre, about 3 or 4 stops on the underground / subway (nearest station - Kelvinbridge, a few minutes walk from hostel).

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip. :icon_mrgreen:

I've stayed in the Euro hostel. It's bog standard, but clean and is right in the city centre which is handy.

Have stayed at the Euro also. Certainly been in alot worse, that's for sure. It's clean as a rule, has plenty of different options, in terms of room size etc, location is tops, couple minutes walk from Central Station.

Found another website for you with a wider choice of hostels / hotels from 15 euros per night (private) or even less if you're sharing. :icon_mrgreen:

I have stayed in the Euro Hostel and the Glasgow Youth Hostel. Both were fine but the location of the Euro Hostel makes it a better choice for exploring around Glasgow. There was also a small grocery nearby which was good for saving money on food instead of going to restaurants.

Euro Hostel mate, i stay in it everytime i come up for a scotland game (from Corby).

Clean, Central, good wee bar (osmosis i think its called) that stays open till all hours. This wont affect your sleep though, its on the ground floor.

Only other place to stay is just over the river about a ten minute walk. A cheap hotel called the etap hotel. Thats probably a nicer place to stay just no as central.

If you need any help give me a wee message and i'll point ye in the right direction.

If you know in advance dates (like in your case) try Premier Inn as in advance its usually easy to get rooms there for £29 a night, so thats cheap for 2 people, the one in Ballater Street is my favourite as its just a walk through Glasgow Green to the London Road.

There are other locations in the centre so as long as you are always booking way in advance £29 rooms are normally not hard to get!
