It does appear this deal is dead, going on paper talk anyway and Bothroyd will be the man to come in. Time will tell I guess.

The deal isn't dead. He's awaiting a work permit, is he not?

That's what I read Shane, of course it could be bullshit just to sell papers, just like the sun but we will see.

    Speculation:
Celtic are reportedly set to make another bid for Norway striker Erik Huseklepp after losing out on his signature to Bari in January.
    3:58
    News:
Celtic have been told to forget about hijacking Hoffenheim's move for Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona.

The above all but confirms this deal is dead for me. Can't see Lenny bring in two new strikers.

Giroud is playing for Montpeiller now and isn't available as far as I've heard.

Hope this is still on to be honest. Damari looks like the type of player that would work well with Hooper up front, even if he does cost £2m. I could see him scoring goals for fun up here. If we don't IRAMAD, then I want to see Musona and Bothroyd coming in to compensate for him. Bothroyd is on a free and Musona surely won't cost more than £1m. Two relatively straightforward signings I would say.

We definitely need more than just Hooper and Stokes as our main goalscoring threats anyway. Get rid of Murphy and Rasmussen, which will also help the wage situation for Bothroyd and Musona.

It'd be nice to know what scuppered the deal. His wage demands too high?

That's twice this year we've tried to buy a player who was dying to play for us and then we've pulled out. Disappointing.

you not been following this thread?

his club basicly came out and said it was a done deal with celtic buying 70% of the player while they still owned the other 30% and boasting how cheap we got him as he would be worth £10m next season with them pocketing £3m if we sell him at that. media in isreal reports (according to an isreali guy on here) that we were used to make other teams interested and celtic were furious at this so pulled the plug as no deal had been struck what so ever.

are you talking about Huseklepp? because of what i can recall was because his old club kept increasing their valuation of Huseklepp the longer the negotiations went on. think we were in the right there and has put us in a better position to get him this window.

think that's asking too much. the wages will be huge. probably around triple of signing Damari alone. i think if we're to bring in two strikers, it depends on Samaras leaving. he's the highest paid striker and obviously everyone wants to see the back of Murphy and Rasmussen and bring in someone else.

Petah-Tikva owner's trick worked, gotta hand it to him.. the man is a genius lol.

Hapoel Tel-Aviv just bought Omer Damari, and paid 1.5milion euros for 50% of his rights, signing him for the next 5 years.

Wierd thing is he still has a 3 milion euros buyout clause, which means they can't make any profit on him money-wise - only cover the amount they paid.... nothing bad with getting a great year or two from him before he's off to Europe though.

Anyways you can close this thread guys.. hopefully reopen it next year though, as he himself said he really wanted to come to Celtic and was a bit unhappy it didn't work out.

Well some jewish people have a reputation for being hardline business people. So this is going to be hard to get him cheap :97:

Anyway there are better players available. Chances of him being another kayal are slim.
