    You get 6 weeks paid holidays per year and you usually get weekends off but that varies depending on the type of work you're required to do. A lot of the time at the start of your career you'll be working shifts. But the RAF website and your local AFCO is the best place for any ATC related information.

    Not sure, sorry. Ask at the AFCO.

    If you're a qualified RAF ATC, then you're a qualified ATC in civillian life too. So technically, yes.

    after training you will be on about 50k, not bad, lot of shift and night work though

    Second that. They are a shower of pessimistic, ill-informed morons. At parents night at school my ma and da told the career advisor that I wanted to be a doctor. She replied "It's awfully difficult, maybe he should consider being a nurse."

    I'll be a doctor in 2 years. Don't ever let one of these dimwits impart upon you their own lack of ambition. Follow your dream.
