We had a fine record against Rangers last season without Stokes. We may have lost that game if we played two strikers. Samaras was better than Hooper that day with the exception of the penalty miss. We can't just throw a couple of wee strikers into that match when we already have a winning formula.

I just feel it's harsh for people to criticise Stokes when he's not had a real chance against the huns. Hooper defo not the same player without Stokes.:shamrock:

Winning formula? Didn't we lose the League Cup final with Hooper and Sammy up front? Gave the huns too much respect should have played our own game, which is Stokes/Hooper partnership.:shamrock:

Regarding Sammy, can we really afford to keep a player for 3 or 4 games out of the season.

Definitely the huns adapted to how he plays too and Hopper/Sammy are no partnership. :shamrock:

Forster- was a good deal for us done a job.
    Cha-ok nothing special would punt.
Izz-what can you say outstanding wee player great find.
Mulgrew-fair play to lennon and to charlie, done himself proud this season tbh.
Maj-the big man takes too much stick on here and basicaly i think he has done well.
Kayal-brilliant,superb what a find great work lenny.
Ledley-another guy who was brilliant last season and we did miss him near the end.
Juarez-unless he gets played? then sell not his fault or lennys, just not worked out so far
Commons-an outstanding piece of buisness by lenny! 300k and what a steal
Hooper-this was a gamble that has paid off! got a lot better and will get even more goals for us. brilliant.
Stokes-an excellent goalscorer no doubt! but has had a couple of run ins with lenny(apparently) so i think we should keep him and start again fresh.
Murphy -feel so sorry for this guy! fair do not the greatest football player! but works his * off.another not given much of a run.personally i think he should get at least to january before we decide wether he is worth to keep?
Freddie-lol pointless good player still but wasted too much money on him and for what?

other than that lennys dealings have been good:50:

His transfer record is impeccable. Even guys like Ljungberg who we seen little of will have imparted invaluable knowledge and professionalism that will stand guys like Forrest very well in the future.

Regarding kapo I thought that he looked decent in the 15 mins I seen him

And the worst thing lenny did regarding players was give Sammy a new contract , he gets a 1 for that

Forster 7 - Pulled off some cracking saves last season, cost us a few goals as well though. Overall good signing.
Cha 5 - Ok going forward but can't defend.
Izz 9 - Revelation at LB. Brillian defender, great going forward. Crossing started to get sloppy near end of the season.
Mulgrew 7 - After a very poor start at LB, slotted into CB with ease. Found his new calling imo. Get him bulked up so he can be more of a CB.
Maj 6 - For a big guy he doesn't use his strength enough. Careless on the ball, poor decision making. Positive is when he was playing he organised the defence better.
Kayal 9 - Brilliant leader, great passer, great tackler. Finally we have a fighter in our midfield.
Ledley 8 - Started a bit slow, but never made any howlers. Got better and better as the season went on.
Juarez 4 - After so much early promise I was a bit gutted he never worked on from there. Maybe keep him here for pre-season and see how he does. Be good to see him try to prove himself rather than feel he is entitled to start.
Commons 9 - Brilliant piece of business, scored a lot of important goals, set up a good few as well. Really kept us in the run in with his goals.
Hooper 9 - Can't wait for this lad to get a good pre-season and hopefully an injury free season. Was it 22 goals in 26 games? If he can stay fit all season (and we don't do a Torres with him, i.e. rushing him back from injuries) then he can well reach 30+.
Stokes 8 - Good signing, poor attitude. Hope he buckles down and sorts himself out. No doubting his ability, can score goals, set them up. Imo he should have been given more of a chance against the huns.
Murphy 4 - PLayed maybe 2 good games imo. Scored a wonder goal and played well against Hearts at teh start of the season.
Freddie 2 - Never had enough time to make any impact, maybe apart from giving tips to the youngsters.
Kapo 2 - Never got a chance, didn't really deserve it imo. He done no bad in the one game I seen.

SO overall Lenny has done a fantastic job. SHould have invested more on the defence, and brought in a real target man, not Murphy.
Lenny's overall - (89 score/14 players) 6.36. (obviously the score has been brought right down by Ljunberg and Kapo. But in general successful signings.

hes done not too badly, some very shrewd and good signings and gettin value for money with Kayal, Izaguirre, Hooper, Commons, Stokes, and majstorovic and ledley wer very good free-signings. Mulgrew was another free who didnt do too bad either. Forster on a loan, well overall, again not too bad. Perhaps question Juarez, Murphy, cha, ljungberg, kapo. All in all, id give Lennon 7/10.

I was a bit puzzled when Lenny signed Murphy tbh as he had a poor GS record before he arrived, hopefully we can secure a striker with a proven record.

what more do you want from a guy who cost us 1.2m and scored was it 19-20 goals and had the most assists aswell....

you just don;t like the guy but you can't knock what he has done for the little money we have spent on him

overall, very very good. the great signings outweigh the bad ones. i have every confidence that this summer lennon will do good business again.

I think looking at his signings last summer, Lenny had a very specific model in his mind: a 4-4-2 with two very attacking FBs, two wingers and two strikers, one of whom would be a target man. That is why he signed Cha, Izz, Mulgrew, Murphy etc. I think he realised it wasnt going to work by Xmas. He deserves credit for not being too proud to change his mind and having a Plan B which was the post-Xmas team that worked. He should keep the structure of that team next year. Bottom line is it looks powerful and it works. Its a pity for reasons I will never understand he reverted to his Plan A against Caley, which cost us the title.
