Lennon and Martinez are in no way comparable

He plays football the right way but so does Mowbray.

Don't see the appeal with the guy personally, has done nothing extra special that a number of better managers haven't done previously.

in the way i presented it, how are Lennon and Martinez in No way comparable? two young managers at clubs where they profess undying loyalty and love for? that alone makes them comparable?

Good posts, mate. Best of luck. Wigan are a good club, I was happy they remained in the EPL, and I'm sure Swansea will win fans next season.

Good luck to him. He says all the right things but i'm not convinced of his top-flight managerial ability yet.

Think we're being a bit harsh jumping on the OP here as well bhoys. Imagine lennon had done that to us? I doubt there would be too many on here wishing him well on a fantastic opportunity to manage in the premier league. Christ, I've seen the reaction on here when players/managers turn us down. It's easy to act objectively when it isn't affecting your club.

For one, their 'undying love' differs, Lennon has a natural connection to the club, having been a life long celtic fan and a catholic, the trouble this man has had to put up with from day 1 of being at the club is remarkable, and for him to still be here now shows his passion for the club - if he leaves tomorrow I would not begrudge or question his love of the club. (And to compare a move from Swansea-Wigan to Celtic-Leicester makes your comments even more laughable)

Compare this to a man who grew up in Spain and probably didnt have a * clue where swansea was until he moved there, youre fans are fools for believing that a man born and bred in spain would give you undying loyalty.

im sure I said in the original post...(scrolls up...yep its there) that compare Lennon (WITHOUT THE THREATS OBVIOUSLY) to Martinez etc etc. its meant to simply be a reference point. oh are you not able to supsend the exact reality around the situation simply to imagine a hypothetical situation?

or would you like me to restate the whole point but instead of using names i will use a symbol instead..

so for example...Celtic manager Mr X etc etc etc. dont be pedantic, you know exactly the point i am trying to put across

Pretty over-rated but I think he could over the next few years to a grand job.

I agree with the swansea fella what Martinez did was scum like he said he loved the club so much took away there star players and their backroom staff and left them in a worse position than they were at that particular stage fair play Brendan Rodgers though if Lenny decided to move to england and took away Izzy Kayal and Hoops we all would be snapping.

thats the point im trying to make. its not just a manager moving on which is part and parcel of the game.

its the WAY he moves on. he pledges his all to the club and makes promises, pledges of loyality, 5-year plans, describes the area and the club as his "home" and so on. then leaves.

Villa never even spoke to him because it was pretty much decided he wanted to stay and be loyal :56: Fair play to him.

    * sake, bit harsh on the lad. Given his main gripe, as a Swansea fan, was his Swansea - Wigan move I would imagine that yes, he does still think he's a judas *.
