you never no, im pretty sure doesnt want to leave scotland and unless he wants to join hearts or hibs then he'll want to look for us. wouldnt want him tho, we have enough midfielders.

He'll have no choice but to go back to engerland. Hearts and Hibs cant afford him, he would have to be stupid to sign for celtic.

Its going to have to be villa or everton.

from a purely football perspective then yes id sign him. however, what mainly makes celtic and rangers famous is the old firm rivalry and some would see this as a watering-down of this. added to this is what rangers would be asking for tranfer fee-wise, which i dont believe we would pay. also his bluenose is well and truely welded on and i seriously doubt it can be turned green.
so football wise then yes, for every other reason, probably not, so i voted not sure. and the accusation of 'glory hunters' could be true i feel for some voters on here, however i am not one of them, got my first season ticket in 96 and fell in love with the hoops as a youngster in the middle of the orcs 9in a row.

its all a big laugh at that lot anyways:84:

vatican agent le guen; mission accomplished:50:

what is happening,is it something in the water, why not go the full hog and invite ian paisley and johny adair onto the board and change the hoops to blue and green and do away with segregation and sit with your arm round a hun, infact if you see one at a bus stop ,stop the bus and give him a glass of champagne and a seat at the front of your mixed supporters club.im not into this new found love for our friends from govan

Barry is a great player. we hate him/some of us do cos he is as loyal to that mob as neil is to us. thats the point. gers fans hate neil cos he is all for the team. its the same the other way around.

hes good, is an attacking midfielder and would be an asset to celtic in terms of football calibre/results.

He wont do it but you can see after the last old firm that Wee GS gave him a big hug and stopped for a cosy chat.

correct me if im wrong but did that not happen with ashley cole and chelsea???

we dont know, gordon strachan does, barrys agent does, rangers do but i think if we wanted to play better football then ..........why not

Because there is no point in having a rivalry with Rangers if we are prepared to welcome the living breathing embidoment of our enemy. We wouldn't be Celtic with a guy like that in the team. We are losing too much identity as it is.

aye when you put it like that, wed lose more than wed win with that move.

it would be funny but it would make us look silly too.

    fair point

Totally disagree with that. How can anyone gauge how intense the rivalry is?

Signing Ferguson would not suddenly mean we're all the best of pals. If anything it would probably fan the flames.

He would be a pariah, and would never be able to walk the streets ever again, and the signing would bring out the worst kind of sectarian hatred from our fans.

It's all just hypothetical, but I'd welcome him like any other player and I make no apologies for that.

david murray(k.n)o.b.e-your right there pepe your doing quite *..but since asking the fans to cough up and help relieve our 79 million pound debt we only got 4 million so ah had to take the other 75 million and put it into my other companies assets!..so pepe there is no dough for you as i am skint..sell barry for 5 million in january?
PEPE LE PEW-f-that davide i will lose my messiah status!im looking le-pish at dis club!madrid and man u vill never want me now this season has been a disaster 17 point behind out ze cup by st johnstone?

I understand the football panto aspect is better when you have an arch-baddie like bazza and it would be less fun if the Old Firm was 11 foreign players v 11 foreign players but I only agree as long as we are strictly talking football. As for the wider division beyond the football panto, it cannot dissapear quick enough IMO.
