Maybe a long term replacement, but I hope Kayal & Victor stay for a good few years.

We need 2 DM's to give us options in formation/line-up.

His arrival means more freedom for Biram to go forward which I think is a good thing all in all as he lacks it in his game but just needs that push forward to showcase it, cause he has the ability.

Having a midfield with those 2 endless engine is gonna be really dominating.. kinda unimaginative though - but if Damari is brought he can be groomed to bring and create offence from the striker position.

    Wanyama is left footed mate.

    Commons----------------------------Brown
    ---------------------Ledley
    ----Wanyama-----------------Kayal

But I'd rather see Ki Sung in place of Ledley, as too many defensive players can give a bad mentality, Ki gives a better balance.

But whatever Lenny does, I'm sure having left & right footed natural DM's to choose from, as well as our excellent midfield will give him plenty of options.

    High hopes for this guy.

Ledley is quality going forwards. He gets in very good positions in the box and is dangerous in the air as well. ( His performances in cup games and at Ibrox highlighted this.)

If we were to play both Wanyama & Kayal in the same game, it would most definetely be a 5 man midfield.

Can Damari play as a lone striker?

I know he has the pace & trickery, but can he time his runs & hold the ball up?

Rooney plays as a lone striker & proves you don't have to be a big target man to do the job.

I agree about Kayal going forward, this signing would really unleash his box to box capabilities - but only in a 5 man midfield, as Ledley kinda lets him do it anyway in a 4 man (with less freedom, as defensive duties are bigger).

Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama excited about joining 'legendary' Celtic

Germinal Beerschot's youngster has confirmed that his move to Glasgow is imminent, and the Scottish club have been told that they are getting "a real diamond" of a player

Kenyan international Victor Wanyama looks set to complete his move to Scotland after Celtic agreed a fee with Germinal Beerschot.

The highly rated holding midfielder has been watched by numerous European clubs, and it appears that Standard Liege, Aston Villa and Swansea City will all lose out on the player's signature.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wanyama expressed his delight about his impending switch to the Glasgow club, saying: "I am extremely excited, Celtic is a legendary club.

"I am looking forward to this, I have had a great time with GBA [Germinal Beerschot], and I look forward to the next chapter of my career at Celtic."

The sought after 19-year-old debuted for Kenya as a 15-year-old, and has been a regular ever since. When asked about the talented youngster, Germinal Beerschot sporting director Chris van Puyeveld said that Celtic were signing a very talented youngster.

Speaking to Sportsmail, the sporting director then continued: "Victor is an excellent player, a real diamond and a very good guy as well. I have no doubt Celtic will be pleased with him and he'll be a big success in Glasgow. I'm sure his value will rise a lot during his stay."

However, it appears that a work permit could delay the youngster's move. Due to the fact that Kenya are outside the top 70 countries in Fifa's world ranking, his initial bid for a work permit will be automatically rejected. Nevertheless, Celtic and Wanyama are confident a permit can be secured to complete the transfer.

How many of yous have actually seen Wanyama play? Not sure why everyone's busy setting up their midfield with him in it right now...the bhoy's 19, doubt he'll be getting too much first team action - at least at the start of the season. Not to mention the fact that our midfield last year was the best it's been in a long while, can't understand why people are racing to throw Wanyama in there just now. Think he's been bought as back up / development / possible replacement for Kayal if / when he does go. Sounds promising but I couldn't tell you one thing about how the bhoy looks on the field / plays. Can't believe people are already setting up midfields with him in it, and even talking about possible formations with Damari (not even concrete evidence we're in talks with him yet!).

Think that Lenny has seen us get out muscled in SPL games too much, like at ICT or Motherwell.

A 5 man midfield with Wanyama & Kayal infront of the defence, with a pacy striker (Damari?) would really help to control these type of situations.

Don't get bullied in midfield, win the ball back, play ball over the top or to the wings & finish...easy.

Very excited about Wanyama & Damari, this is the type of signing I love - like Kayal & Emilio.

Excellent value for money & real potential to become legend players, like Lubo & Henke....hoping.

    Think it's a more defensive/physical set-up we're talking about mate.

Our midfield is the strongest area of the Club, but we really needed something a bit different in physical, heavy pitch away games.

Wanyama might gives us that something a wee bit different, for these games - why people are putting him in.

Can't see him getting many starts at home, but could come off the bench to shore up a lead/give more experience.

Yup I believe he can tbh.. will take time adjusting ofc, but he has it in him - as I said he has a pretty complete skill-set as a striker.. he didn't do it - but he's a strong kid and holds his own so I think he can learn how to if needed.

In that type of lineup it makes you wonder why the Refaelov idea was forgotten, he would be perfect in that lineup and would bring the much needed offensive spark that you don't really have in your side for that 'hole' position.

But on the other hand, if the wings and mainly strikers can provide on the offensive end and create on thier own most times then not - that midfield looks very strong and one to boss quite alot of sides.. aslong as you're not having like 60% posession when your forced to create as you'll struggle in that type of game in that lineup - in an even game or even one the opponent tries to have more of the ball, it really looks like a great midfield atleast on paper(didn't see this Victor kid playing)
