Since I was a kid I liked this part of the world, Scotland and Ireland in particular. And I've been a footbal fan for as long as I can remeber, so when you combine these three things, there can only be one outcome. And then when I learned about the club's history, there was no way back. :celt_2:

Na, mum or da had no interest in football. Me and my bro lived in Liverpool during our Uni years after leaving Belfast, he is a Liverpool fan but Celtic were the only team for me

Yeah my dad is a massive Celtic fan and he was born and bred in Larkhall (moved to England 35 years ago though)which made it a lot more difficult !! He got me into it straight away but my grandad turned my brother to the darkside when he was 8 !!!

My father grew up around England mainly Liverpool and Sunderland hence why I always check out their results etc. However my mother was born and raised in Dublin so there was no other team for me :50: Plus I grew up in the most "Irish" parts of Boston there is. It's only ever gonna be the bhoys in green for me.

I was brought up as a Barça fan, but I got fed up with their results. My father always spoke me greatly about Ireland and Scotland, so I looked for some Scottish teams at Play Stations. I discovered a green and white Hooped team by playing Fifa 99 (stupid way to find a team) and so on until today. I know our history and our heritage and I'm really proud to be a Celtic fan. No matter how the results on the park are.

Yes brought up a Celtic fan in Aberdeenshire. Granda and my dad supported Celtic. I don't know why my Granda supported the hoops but his hero was Jimmy McGrory so possibly thats the only reason. We have no ties with Glasgow or Ireland. I was not forced to support the hoops but had some influence. My dad did take me to Pittodrie just to see the local football on offer but can never remember any sort of enjoyment going. Not much singing and always getting on the teams back. It was * to be honest. First trip to a Celtic game in Glasgow and I was hooked. Everyone in green and white seemed to enjoy themselves through songs and banter throughout. Even though we lost. 1991 Motherwell won 4-2 in the SC semi final replay. So it was hardly glory hunting. First trophy I remember is SC in 95.

My dad was raised a Clydebank fan first, and a Celtic fan second, as time went on that switched and now he's a tim through and through, but he still makes it to a Bankies cup match once or twice a year, I've been with him a few times for those. He first took me to a Celtic game when I was 8, we beat Dundee 5-0, I don't remember much of it. A month later he took me back to Paradise for my first Old Firm, losing 3-0 and as a result the league. I remember that vividly, and I'd probably say that was the night I stopped being a wee boy dressed in the shirts and actually became a fan. On the way home my dad was spat on by a manky hun rat, another image still clear in my memory. Given all the chaos that night, I suppose looking back it was a dud move to take an 8 year old, but those moments were just as important as the good times in making me the fan I am today.

That's quality :icon_mrgreen: My mate supports Lille (French team) Purely through going them in Pro Ev.

My Father and brother don't like football, but I played alot of it when I was young and my uncle took me to Parkhead to see Celtic beat Dundee United 5-0 ( It was the week before we won the Scottish Cup against Dundee United 3-0 I think). I have always supported Celtic since then, even though 90% of my mates were huns.

I used to like St Mirren cause they're local and I played with their youth team. I also worked there as a coach, but got sacked because I disagreed with a lot of * that went on so I now no longer have any sort of affiliation towards them (If anything, more of a dislike).

I quite like watching Arsenal cause my best mate's Arsenal Obsessed and we used to live together and I ended up watching most their matches and he ended up following most of Celtic's.

Aye I was brought up a Celtic supporter because of my dad.

His dad (my grand-dad) was a Rangers supporter. He had five sons and my dad was the only one that chose his own path and went with Celtic because of everything they stand for, because we are a club open to all. The rest all prefer Rangers but I wouldn't say any of them are huns, none of them attend or take football that seriously, still thank * my dad chose Celtic.

No one in my family supports celtic apart from me, and that includes my girlfriends side of the family aswell.

I made the decision quite early in my life because my best pal at the time (we must have been 4-5) was a hun and his dad was always steaming and everytime i seen or heard him (drunk of course) it was '* basdards, scum' and so on.

So at the time I probably didn't know what that was about but always remember feeling uneasy around him when he was drinking and sporting a rangers top lol.

Then I broke it to my family at 5 years old that I'm a celtic supporter.... which didn't go down well lol.

My dad is a Celtic fan so he got me into Celtic. I had phases of following English teams but they never stuck and I just follow Celtic now. My mam hates football.

Slightly off topic, but ConorBhoy97's post reminded me of a pretty funny story. As I mentioned above, my dad was raised a Clydebank fan, and amongst his group of pals, there was one who refused to support them, instead he followed the huns, and would wind his dad up for supporting a "diddy team". Apparently it near broke the old man's heart that his son refused to pull on a Bankies jersey.

Skip forward 30 years and the grown up wee guy buys his son his first season ticket for the huns as a birthday suprise, to which the kid goes "da, I don't want it, I support chelsea, rangers are a diddy team".

    There's karma for ye.

My da was a bit of a soft celtic fan so I was mainly brought up by my uncles on the celtic front , taking me on the supporters bus to the game and put me on his shoulders to get through the gates , death starring anyone who asked me for a ticket. Good times ^^
