Stokesy

Samaras is incapable of tearing anything apart. The Celtic shirt doesn't shrink to fit two-game-per-season players. Which is what he is at best. Say if you were a Fulham or Stoke fan, and you were linked to Samaras. How would you react given that he failed miserably in England and scored two goals from open play this season in the SPL? He's living off one good game in January, and for some people that's enough for a Celtic striker.

 

I've always rated Sammy, he'd be more suited to dutch,german, spanish football tbh.

anyway this is about stokesy, if he has a problem he'll get sorted, if not, adios.

I'v never seen sammy rip anything apart, he's played well against rangers a few times but i wouldn't say he was destroying them.

That's an outrageous estimation on his price, he's a sticker that cant score goals, doesn't score enough headers for his hight and doesn't make enough runs for his pace. Just an example, Van Der Vaart cost 6 million (I know this was a very good deal for a player of that quality)

Finally why do we need to play 451 against rangers, i think we're better than them and can handle their attacking with 4 in the middle, they haven't score against us in the league since the 3-1 game, and as for the games in the cup one was a wonder goal and the other a pen.
I do agree in Europe sometimes we should play a 451, especially away from home, but i think we would be better with a powerful striker rather than Sammy.

And as for Stokes, i think he cost less than the other 3 (Hoops, Murphy and Sammy) and has delivered close to hoops goal return, and has set up a lot of Hoops goals, with out Stokes Hooper would not have scored as many as he has.

Find it strange people want Stokes gone

Some people on this thread are absolutely mental. Ask yourself this:

If I offer you a player for less than 1 million that is guaranteed to score at least 15 goals in the SPL and assist in almost the same amount, would you take him?

If you say no, you are mental and if you say yes, then we already have him in Stokesy!

 

Stokes is better than samaras. Full stop.!

We have had some goal-shy strikers of late so to have TWO who play well together and rack up the goals and assists for others is a dream.

I hope he knuckles down and doesn't cross Lennon's path again because he will be out which will be a shame.the likes of Samaras and Murphy who are dreadful in front of goal and offer little else than height should be hounded out way before Stokes.

 

Stokes bashing on here is crazy. Only problem I can see with Stokesy is his apparent temperament because what he does on the pitch is A-OK for me. Scores and sets up goals. Infact its better than that, he has had a great season and if he started more games this season no doubt in my mind he would have got the golden boot.

Also its interesting how different Hoops is without Stokes to link up with. Not that im slagging Hooper because the guy is quality, just so much more effective with Stokes to partner, as opposed to the confused one (Samaras)

But as the striker heads off on international duty with the Republic of Ireland, he has been left in no doubt by Celtic boss Neil Lennon that a repeat of the breach of discipline which saw him dropped for the final SPL game will not be tolerated.

We'd better hold on to Stokes. He's a great player, with a good sense for goal. Keep him!

 

sell stokes and take 20 goals out of your team . stokes and hooper should start every game.

As for not starting against the rangers he did start the first one and i got to admit the enviroment got the better of him he lost the head but do u lot forget he's only young and will mature ?? Larssons first season anybody ring a bell ? disgraceful what more does he have to do !!! .

Footballing wise and statistics aside? i hope your having a laugh? if you dont judge a player on footballing ability and his statistics what do you judge him on
