Most United home fans are *, its just a status some of them have when they go back to there home towns "i go to united every week" Bollox!

The away support is better, but thats starting to slowly turn. Club full of bell ends. The true support even know the home fans are a joke.

Chelsea are the worst.

 

Manchester United have a lot a fans because they are so well known. Not always a bad thing. I do believe some of the fans are glory hunters, but there are other reasons people support them.

I like Manchester United for a few simple reasons. First and most importantly, they brought football to America. Manchester United games began to be aired (in reruns from the weekend) over here about 10-12 years ago. Up till then the only football I ever watched or was exposed to was MLS "soccer." When this is the case, going from MLS to Manchester United was like a football enlightenment. They introduced the sport as quality to US fans rather than the crap the MLS was showing us.

Second, United always has some of the most "famous" and best players in the world on their team. I began to follow when Beckham was on the team back in 1999. Since then by watching United I have watched Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, and now Chicharito (just to name a few) evolve into the class players of the world. How many teams out there really consistently produce the BEST players the game as to offer?

Third, I hate La Liga. I would rather see Manchester United win the Champions League every year than have to watch Barcelona win and hear La Liga fans tell me that their two team league is the best in the world because the always win the CL.

All that being said. I started off being a Manchester United fan as many Americans did. Partly because they were the only team that was getting aired over here, and partly for the reasons stated above.

However, after becoming a HUGE football fan, I realized that they were not the perfect fit for me. I wanted a team that had more of a "real" following and more passion in their support. When I moved to Boston I began to follow Celtic. The difference is that when Celtic play I feel something. It feels like something bigger than just a football match. I am not sure I could ever feel that way over Manchester United. They are too corporate at this point.

But since United introduced me to the sport really, I will always like them. Just thought I would share where some of their support comes from. (btw I was happy to see them win, but I was not out celebrating. I find that a little fake when people do that.)

 

* * fans, look at our fans when we got to our 2 European Cup finals a few years back compared to there's, vs Schalke they were just sitting there no atmosphere, yesterday same as always, just a few ''Wheyyyys'' when Utd players names were being called to get their medals, they don't have no flags or nothing either, those * banners above the stretford are always there aka flags the club have put there to try to create an atmosphere, really are the 3rd worst fans around (slightly above Chelsea and Arsenal I'll be fair)

Disgraceful club. They were about 3 or 4 goals ahead of Schalke in a Champions league semi-final and the place was like a morgue apart from the schalke fans.

Hardly surprising though given that the majority of their support probably couldn't even point to manchester on a map.

Also detest the alcoholic bully that runs the team but thats not for here.

Ironic coming from any fan of Celtic or Gers tbh. I mean I love Celtic, but how could you call a team like Man United disgraceful when the SPL still has a huge problem with racism and sectarianism?

 

Sorry what? Celtic do not have a huge problem with racism, in fact the one instance of this, the support named andshamed the individual. In fact lets just leave celtic out of this chat altogether.

 

I didn't mean Celtic with regards to Racism. I meant the league and more to the point Gers. But Celtic have shown this season that we have not moved past sectarian chants (not saying that is bad or good btw). Just saying that off all the leagues out there, the SPL is not one to really be calling other teams disgraceful.

 

Bully is he really so i take it Lennon must be one as well then because if anything Lennon is a lot worse when it comes to being a bully and his manner towards officials.

 

Celtic have the best atmosphere in the world, even when we lost the league. The United fans don't appreciate it as much.

He was talking with reference to the atmosphere or lack of, which tbh was pretty disgraceful when your team are lifting a trophy. the gers support have issues with racism but not at games, and do you have any evidence of this alleged racism within the rest of the Scottish League?
