Lenny said at the last Q&A he wants to run with a squad of 23.

Obviously theyll be some players he fails too move on ,etc but if Lenny gets his way who would be your shakers and movers for the final 23?

He's also said he wants needs to improve the following 3 positions.

    Goalkeeper.
    Centre Back.
    Striker.

    ----------------------

New Keeper. (Good keeper who commands his box)
    Zaluska.
    Cervi.

Let Forster go back to Newcastle as he's not good enough IMO - and certainly not worth the money they're talking about.

    ----------------------

    M.Wilson
    Matthews
New Centre Back. (proven quality and pace)
    Majstorovic
    K.Wilson
    Rogne
    Izaguirre
    Mulgrew

Cha to mainland Europe somewhere, Hinkel back to Germany, Loovens and O'Dea to Championship Clubs, Hooiveld to Copenhagen, Thompson to English League 1.
I'd look for around £3million for them.

    -----------------------

    Commons
    Forrest
    Brown
    Kayal
    Ledley
    Ki
    Maloney
New Winger (need another pacy wide player as Forrest needs time IMO)

McGinn and McCourt to Championship Clubs, Juarez to Italy, Ljungberg to retire.
I'd look for around 2-3million for them.

    -----------------------

    Hooper
    Samaras
    Stokes
New Striker (Guaranteed quality that will do the biz in Europe)

    Murphy to Championship.
I'd look just to get him tae *.

    --------------------

I understand we'll have problems trying to move the deadwood from our squad but lets just hope we do so Lenny gets all the funds he can get to improve the areas of the team we need to strengthen if we want to avoid another European embarassment and trophyless SPL season.

We need quality IMO. We have the makings of a good team we just have to improve a couple of areas and we're there.

    Hail Hail.

would say we need 5 new players for next season with a bit more quailty than what we have

GK westwood on a free not going to cost us * all

2x CB's we need someone with pace i agree yobo would fit the bill and also i would try and get dunne in aswell and get rid of big dan cause he will only get slower next season he is 34....

defo a right mid seb larsson would be great

also a ST big john carew would be fantastic

i have said about these players in other posts i just hope lennon gets money from the board this summer if not it could bo another long * season

I would keep Big Dan to be honest. Not on a lot of wages, he has a lot of experience and is apparently a positive and good influence in the dressing room.

I think we need more quality than quantity - we have a big enough squad.

Ok i think thats quiet good i agree with you about a Gk i am not sure of Foster !!!

    Defence:

Again not much wrong there but i think it will be hard to get a Quality CB with pace and power !!!! but yes we need this type of player !!!

What about Marius zaliukas for us if he could control in discipline i think he would be good for us what do you think .

    Midfield :

Here we go i would punt Brown if we got a half decent offer even though he has been playing quiet well of late he imo is defo not Captain material.

Maloney could go as well unless he is told he is not going to be a first team player he would be a good squad player at best .

Yes i am in full agrement with the need for another Commons like winger for the team and i would also go for another CM .

    Frontline :

Samaras has to go i can't accept 3 goals in a season for a striker not wat not a chance terrible .
Murphy has to go as well not up for it here .
So another 2 good strikers for me .

but them players i said are quailty to what we have at celtic at the moment and would add to what we need

westwood IMO is better than foster

yobo and dunne are better than what we have so quailty

seb larsson better than what we have at right mid

carew much better target man that what we have

all better players so i don't get your comment more quailty than quantity?

Agreed with original poster, only Maloney out and keep Paddy McCourt.

also what happens when you get older.... over the season you have seen his pace go down in games....

aye but rangers played 5 at the back most of the season and he has a fast CB next to him

we don't have any quick CB's and i don't want us playing 5 at the back

Copy and paste job from the other thread but

    IN

GK - One of Westwood/Enyeama as first choice would be great, both available on frees as well. Would also bring in a promising back up as Zaluska and Cervi aren't good enough.

CB - Someone with pace, Yobo would be perfect if we could afford his wages.

LB - Berhang Safari. Swedish international who can also cover in midfield. Good age and available on a free. Think we were linked to him last summer as well.

Two Forwards - Convinced Lenny will keep Sammy to give us the option of playing one up in europe/old firms, but ideally we'd get rid of him, Murphy and Ras and bring in two new strikers. Since we wouldn't have spent a penny on the other positions we could spend say £4M on a target man who can actually score, someone similar to Jelavic would be great. Would also love to see someone with real pace come in who can play up front or on the wing if needed, ie someone like Bellamy, Schechter or Husseklepp.

    OUT

Forster - Wouldn't mind signing him permanently but Pardew has already said he's not for sale.
Zaluska - Never going to be number one and would prefer someone with more potential as back up.
Cervi - If he can't get an appearance when on loan at Dundee then he's clearly never going to be good enough for us. Not exactly young now either.
Hinkel - Contract running out and will free up some wages.
Loovens - Will we find someone dat enough to buy him?
Thompson - Struggled at Rochdale and possibly the slowest person on earth.
    O'Dea - Had enough chances.
Hooiveld - Hopefully recoup what we spent on him.
Ljungberg - Hasn't got a chance but we don't really need him anyway.
    McGinn - Not good enough.
Conroy - Should leave to get 1st team football.
Maloney - Wouldn't mind if he stays but he's perma-injured and probably one of our highest earners. Forrest has more potential and McCourt does roughly the same job for a lot less wages.
Samaras - Can't score and doesn't link up well with Hooper or Stokes, awful.
Murphy - Can do much better.
Rasmussen - Getting a million for him would be good business.
    Hutchison - Pish
McGowan - Any sort of fee would be good business.

That would leave us with something like this

    GK Westwood/Enyeama New GK

    RB M.Wilson Matthews Cha
    CB Yobo K.Wilson Rogne
    CB Majstorovic Mulgrew
    LB Izzaguirre Safari

    RM Brown Forrest
    CM Kayal Juarez
    CM Ledley Ki
    LW Commons McCourt Carey

    ST Hooper New ST Keatings
    ST New ST Stokes

I probably would let Maloney go but his injury problems are such that no one would take him. If he can keep himself fit he can be good cameo player for 20mins in games with his energy though.

McCourt however - who himself injury/fitness problems - does have a transfer value and because i cant see him ever being a regular in the side then i'd cash in on him.

think the original poster has it bang on. some want more players to leave and more new players but that would disrupt a squad settling and cost too much. think 4 or 5 incoming players is realistic. i'm glad Lennon has given the same indication as what the original poster says.

only thing i'd disagree is that Rasmussen wasn't included in the exits and if i was living in a fantasy world, i'd get rid of Samaras and bring in another striker. Lennon likes him though. i'd also maybe look to bring in a cover for left back if we have any money left over from the essential purchases.

might see £8m coming in from players sold. i would take Westwood and Seb Larsson for free. that would leave us with the £8m to spend on a centre back and striker. think we'd get some real quality with that. maybe Yobo for £3m and Long for £4m.

I forgot about Rasmussen actually. Thats how much i think of him.

If we can rob a club of a couple a hundred thousand ill be happy.

If not - off the wage bill - and good riddance. :50:
