I'm getting a bit tired of reading unfounded comments about Strachan, Lenny, Magic, JJ and anyone else who happens to do or say or act in a certain way.
Some people need to learn what it means to get behind the team.
There's nothing wrong with criticism of players or coaches/Managers, but at least have a valid point to make, not 'He looks around shiftily during interviews.' or 'I saw him in McDonald's buying a burger.'
When my father was young the Celtic players used to go for a pint after the game in the Gallowgate and the fans could buy them a pint and tell them directly to their faces what they thought of their performance. The players took the credit after a good performance and the criticism after a bad one.
But if someone said to the likes of Bobby Evans or Charlie Tully. 'I think you're * because I don't like the way you look or act then the other Celtic fans would treat these people like imbiciles.

Criticise Magic for a bad or consistantly bad performance(s) but leave the stupid jibes out. This is playground stuff.
My 7 year old daughter loves Henrik Larsson because he looks nice, she hates Magic because he has a big nose. (Sorry Magic, her words, not mine). Saying Magic's bad form is due to him having a Big Mac is just silly gossip.
Let's get back to discussing all things Celtic and not this stupid crap we're seeing post after post. Real discussion, not 'Auld Wummin's' gossip.

If this continues then I'll be surfing the net for a new home that doesn't have so many weans in it.

Well said mate. I've been trying to point out to everyone that criticising the team or an individual player is not a problem if you make your point in a constructive and importantly, readable way.

Don't give up on us yet.

In my opinion the site really needs some 'slightly older':84: members. The younger bhoys on here might not appreciate the recent success the club has enjoyed as much as the guys who remember the bad days under the Kellys and the Whites.

I remember the Stein days when Celtic were King of Football and respected worldwide and I cried though the Brady & Macari days and we've all experienced the Barnes/Dalglish shambles. I, like yourself am feeling pretty proud at the moment and to think we aren't even the finished product yet fills me with excitement. At the risk of sounding like an old fart, these young ones don't know they're born yet.:34:

Well I wasn't fortunate enough to see those days, but I have some good memories like Love Street 86' (Not there, but on the radio) and the centenary double.

But I also remember the smellies winning 9 and being unable to beat those * for long periods of time.

Personally, I can't remember a better time to be a Celtic fan. The huns are nowhere, cruising to 2 in a row and the last 16 of the CL.

Love it. Brings back some great memories.
My best memory was my first cup final. 1969 Gubbed the Hun 4-0.
My first visit to Hampden Park too.

No these really are the greatest days in my lifetime as a Celtic supporter. For me I go back as far as the early 80's. My earliest memories being as a little kid watching the 1980 cup final. There were some highs during the 80's ( Love street and the centenary double being great memories no question ) but nothing like it''s been since 2000. No question a few people really don't realise just how good they have it at the moment.

Well said Henke. Trying to cut out these threads/posts is difficult because we are dealing with opinions and while alot of people may consider, for example, Magic eating a burger is not the reason for his bad form, others can argue that his diet may have a stronger influence of his performances than the majority think.

This is a large "grey area" and we dont want to be censoring opinions just because the majority dont agree. Generally people know when they are going to be outspoken on something, in this case they'd better have their reasons well put because the the one liners "Player X is crap, always thought he was crap" will be removed because its flaming (looking for a reaction)

I started watching Celtic in the early sixties when we were really *. My first cup final was 1963 against the huns when we were gubbed 3-0 in a replay after Frank Haffey had performed heroics on the Saturday.Watched the Lisbon final on telly and was there for the real 9-in-a-row.Came through some bad times like Lou Macari's signings. The huns domination of the nineties and then the rebirth of Celtic under MON. Greendave is right some of these young guys need a reality check and should count their blessings rather than moaning about nothing really.

To be fair if a Celtic player is seen munching a Big Mac i do think it's worth discussing as if he does it on an overly regular basis it will affect his performance. The effect may only be a hundredth of a percent but Celtic players are top professional athletes and are paid accordingly. The difference between players at the top end of the game are tiny amounts and the correct diet is something that can be controlled fully by the club and the players themselves. My body doesn't feel the best after a McDonalds and comparing my body to Magic Zurawski is like comparing a shetland pony to a thouroughbred so * know's what it does to his insides.

I also remember the White Kelly era and the gringing misery of every Saturday and Monday morning going into school and getting slagged. I'm loving every minute of our games in Europe when we're slugging it out with the big boys like, IMO, we should be. But i am concerned with complacency. We have the chance now to build a team that can dominate domestically and regularly get to the latter stages of the CL, with Rangers as weak as they are and our youngsters walking their leagues and us being financially secure.

One thing's for sure though, Rangers will be better next season - they can't get any worse, Hearts could well be much better next season - or else Vlad might just send them all to the gulag. So yes, enjoy us walking the league, enjoy us in the CL against Milan, but remember that not one of the players on our books couldn't be replaced by someone better.

Criticism is the whole part of a forum surely? Both positive and negative.

Do you know that you suggested that your daughter is stupid?

Maybe try to say your daughter that she should not judge people on basic how they look, this must be really nasty kid and you no offence but poor father.
