All the IRA, FTQ and DOB staff that gets sung does our fans and the Club no favours.

We have so many good songs aswell i cant understand why they need to sing these.

Parhead is rocking the most when we sing songs such a
    Walk on
    JCGE
    The celtic song
    Lets all do the huddle
    Lets all do the broonie

When the ira songs are sung only a small % join in

Celtic was a name chosen by Brother Walfrid to unite the communities of Scotland and Ireland. It's not an Irish name per se.

We regularly see Orange walks going through Celtic/Catholic areas so I don't think the authorities give too much of a * about how 'appropriate' some forms of sectarian behaviour are. Orange walks are a much bigger source of consternation and sectarian tension than Celtic fans singing a few rebel songs at a football match.

I'm not going to stop singing all the rebel songs just because it might offend a few Huns or any English onlookers. There is an argument that we could just stop singing the rebel songs that specifically have "IRA" in them, I would be willing to consider that, but stop singing all the Republican songs? No chance.

lol Don't talk cach. It's the English way or pronouncing it. If it was Irish it would be the same as gaelic and be Ceiltich

That's not Irish! The soft C is the English speaking way of pronouncing it. Keltic is closer to Scots gaelic and Irish

I am not saying dont sing them or have the views you have thats not the case its when its at a football match thats the problem.
And when the media is looking to get a cheap story then its ammo for them.

The people in here that hate rebels should definitely attend the game on Sunday and tell the bad rebel singers to stop what they are doing. Moaning infront of a computer screen won't stop us.

Just wondering - if Neil Lennon and the players asked the fans to not sing particular songs, because they didn't find them supportive, would people consider not singing them

I speak gaelic ( Irish) and I have normally said it with a soft C. I might be wrong on this one but im sure im right.
