Lennon's media comments

right, i heard on the radio tonight that lennon said something along the lines of "id like to see teams try to stand up to rangers", clearly referring to the pathetic performance against hearts, but also criticising the performances of most spl teams when they play against rangers.

now, as much as i agree with him, i just wish he would shut his mouth and get on with managing celtic instead of getting caught up in other teams business. i wish he would cut out all these wee cheeky comments that refer to the "pro-rangers" attitude in scotland. why cant he just bite his tounge, refuse to comment on non-celtic matters and get on with being celtic manager? if anyone, both lennon and fans, begins to think that if we lose the title that its anyones fault but our own then they are just clueless.

as ive said, i do agree with what he is saying, but just wishes he wouldnt say it because no good comes from it. i will continue to back lennon 100% as i always have, but i am expecting pelters for saying this.

 

I think that he is probably trying to add in some tension into the games to see if it provokes a reaction. I dont mind him on this occasion, though agree that he can sometimes bite his lip rather than speak out. Im sure he knows this himself, he has said as much recently.

We forget how young he is as a manager and how much he is under the microscope. Am sure he will mature.

 

We all know Lenny is telling it how we all see it,but after that * shambles at ICT he should just be quiet and let the remaining games take their course.We will have lost the league because of our uncanny ability to turn into a pub team overnight.Lets hope this disny come back and bite Lenny on the * at Tynecastle.

 

He is calling the other teams out mate thats all ,ie ,how can Caley for example play like they did against Celtic then 3 days later play the total opposite against St Mirren ,,,Then on to Hearts ,humped on Saturday but watch them at swinecastle on Wednesday ,,telling it as it is and rightly so in my view and he is making a mockery of the other SPL managers who have different tactics against Celtic but not so much so against the other lot ,Aberdeen and Hibs are the only ones i would,nt include in this .

caley dont water pitch or cut it,hearts drop there captain but recall him for us,utd we want rankers to win league it is corrupt the only way we can turn this round is breaking the bank and give lenny 20m to spend simple as that

 

i know what he is doing, and i agree with what he is saying, but do you think that it is actually going to make a difference at all? do you think houston is going to think "aw lennon said we should stand up to rangers, think i might make my team play better now"? no, its going to do * all to motivate teams to play well against rangers.

infact it could have the exact opposite effect. jefferies could easily say "lads, lennon is making a mockery of us, go out and prove him wrong by crushing their already very slim title chances"

i just dont think that coming out and slating other teams will ever benefit celtic, so he shouldnt do it.

Maybe not benefit Celtic but Lennon is making a sham of the rest of them mate ,basically letting them know that he knows whats going on and a fuckyou to them fired in there aswell ,,to be admired i would say.

 

Why would he not want to express the truth?

 

Love Lenny, he just doesn't give a * and says it how it is.

It's just trying to provoke a reaction from the other teams, I think Lenny will be more than happy to eat his words if Utd go out and prove him wrong tomorrow night!

Don't really see the problem with it. Fergie most famously said similar things about Leeds Utd just before they had to play Newcastle which led to Keegans infamous rant and Utd snatching the title.

 

I think what you've said is bang on the money, even the tiny hint that Hearts were lying down to the huns, when we've still to play them, is not a wise move.

 

So when we hammered dutd and killie etc does this mean they lied down ?

 

Lennon has just handed Hearts and jefferies their team talk. Can he just not bite his tongue and say it`s our fault that we were crap and we should have been UP for it more than Inverness....We couldnt beat Hamilton BOTTOM of the league with 12 points at the time and we sneaked a draw then...Look at the silly draws,changing winning teams etc etc. His comments just make the club look even more paranoid...I wish some of our * players would do their talking with their FEET rather than talking a good game in the paper`s.

A fan came on that Radio show tonight and said he basically agreed with Lenny. Derek (who ate all the pies) Johnston then proceeded to ridicule him by saying that means every team Rankers played had lain down to them.
What Lenny actually said was "I hope someone gives them (Rankers) a game as I haven't seen much evidence of it in the last couple of games"
This is merely stating a fact as neither of the two teams Rankers have played in their last two games have given them a game. Yet Fat DJ turns this statement into Lenny saying teams are lying down to them. Scottish Media at its best.
