Neil Lennon has won 35 out of the 44 league games he's been manager for. That record suggests to me that he's plenty good enough to be the Celtic manager.

Ok so he hasn't won any trophies as a manager yet but that WILL come.

So much pish being talked on this thread I don't know where to start. So I'm not going to.

One bit of sense in the original post - we should have been playing less ball along the ground on a very uneven pitch. You could see ICT were playing even quite short balls thru the air - they have adapted to the pitch. But it's only to be expected they would be better adapted to it - because ermmm... it's their * pitch. :56:

On the Neil Lennon issue, he has done quite superbly in his debut year as a professional manager. Some 1st class signings, and the season is going right down to the wire against the hugely experienced Walter Smith - one of the most successful Scottish league managers in history. Seriously promising debut.

Honestly, we would be stone crazy to even think of letting go such a great managerial prospect.

Right fair enough but i dont want Lennon to go now cos the damage is done what id like is maybe an older head into guide him maybe somebody like willie mcstay,,he was offered an older head at the start of the season but was too arrogant to take it..i cant face up to a 3rd season rebuilding with another manager so i dont have all the answers ..but he should NEVER have been manager in the 1st place did we learn nothing from john barnes??? we needed an experienced manager to guide us we are CELTIC not neil lennons training ground...but i was happier with him midway thru the season i wont lie cos it seemed he was learning from mistakes but like someone on here earlier said he has just went and repeated all those mistakes again & what shoulda been a glorious first season treble has just about turned into a disaster & anybody kidding on it has been otherwise are just kidding themselves on!!!

He didnt make the right substitutes on wednesday & paid the price for it

yet still nearly everyone seems happy with the guy

This is where i get confused & start wondering is it cos of what he is & where hes from that so many are defending him??

they both won the same amount of trophies & lennons had longer.

    its a trophy game.

this is nothing personal against neil but he should NEVER been manager of our club in the 1st place he shoulda went away done his apprenticeship somewhere like lamberts done

we are far too big a club for him to learn his trade

& in letting him do so we have probaly saved the huns from extinction & we will need to listen to the * gloating for another year at least.

Your apathy and downright bitterness towards Neil Lennon is pathetic. The league is not over yet you are already kicking him. He came in and took over a side that was as poor as I have seen at CP in the last 10 years. He brought in over a dozen players and totally revamped the side. Can you honestly say that a more experienced manager could have done that straight off?? Mowbray couldnt and he had loads of your experience.

He does deserve praise, he has put his life, quite literally, on the line for our club and yet you come on here whingeing and bleating about "damage" and how he "shat it".

Given the damage that the previous manager incurred , your comments beggars belief. As for shat it, are you talking about a manager that has had numerous death threats and living under security and constant threat? Your phrase is very unfortunate indeed. No--one is saying he hasnt made mistakes, but your assessment is extreme.

As for comparing him to Barnes, that is total bollocks. Barnes lost the dressing room and the fans. To my knowledge the players are 100% behind Lennon in a way that was never achieved under Barnes, so again , you are talking *.

And if football is a Trophy game what are your thoughts on Tommy Burns? A manager who won only one trophy under Celtic? And pretty much a novice when he took over.

I expect you will come on with the money factor, but the facts are Smith spent £30m on his side by the time Neil came to the fold so was already playing catch up giving the changes he had to make. Or cant you acknowledge that with your blind hatred.

To come out and say his support is down to religious reasons is the most crass and puerile comment I have heard on this forum. I take it if we now win the league and the cup you wont be celebrating. You would have to have a neck that a blowtorch couldnt scorch to say otherwise given your comments.

No one escapes blame on Wednesday.

The entire team were poor and Lenny's substitutions were at best baffling and at worst, plain * stupid. A blind man could see Maloney and Commons were both doing nothing and the wide players should have been straight swaps for Forrest and McCourt.

If he felt we needed to get Murphy on then swap him for Stokes, who was hopeless, seemples. How Mjallby, Thommo and Lenny came up with our substitutions between them is * beyond me.

Absolute * shambles and we were lucky to escape with 3-2.

    Still sickened by it.

Well to be fair you don't deserve to be celebrating. If at the first sign of a stumble you get on his back and give him pelters. Shocking. The man has won think its 33 games? That's brilliant we have 1 of the best defences. In europe this season.and have scored over 100 goals, yes we've slipped up but we've not lost anything yet. Still here for 2 cups and going strong.

This thread is utter bile and should have been closed from the start. Just seems half the stuff in here has been posted by the scum of the earth ie manky huns.

martin o neill came in after john barnes season but he done alright didnt he? also WGS came in after martin o neil rebuilt the team & had instant success but then the diffrence was they where experienced managers
He does deserve praise, he has put his life, quite literally, on the line for our club and yet you come on here whingeing and bleating about "damage" and how he "shat it".

your twisting my words there & you know it i meant his tactics were cowardly not his personal behaviour,,off course i * detest what the huns have done to him this season

Given the damage that the previous manager incurred , your comments beggars belief. again as i said above..he put out a defensive minded team at ibrox when anyone knows we coulda easily beat that mob if we went for it

As for comparing him to Barnes, that is total bollocks. Barnes lost the dressing room and the fans. To my knowledge the players are 100% behind Lennon in a way that was never achieved under Barnes, so again , you are talking *.
the players being 1oo per cent behind them or not they have both so far acheived the sam

And if football is a Trophy game what are your thoughts on Tommy Burns? A manager who won only one trophy under Celtic? And pretty much a novice when he took over.

no tommy burns cut his teeth at kilmarnock when they where in the old 1st division in fact he brought them up to the old premier league..tommy burns had his teams playing the celtic way against a rangers team at the peak of there powers who could spend million when he only had pennies,, yet he never set out defensivley against that mob!! he played football the celtic way so did his teams & that is why he was universally loved & respected by the celtic family he also done it in a dignified & respected manner

I expect you will come on with the money factor, but the facts are Smith spent £30m on his side by the time Neil came to the fold so was already playing catch up giving the changes he had to make. Or cant you acknowledge that with your blind hatred.

blind hatred where do you get that from? lennon had plenty of money this year & bought some great players...more than capable of winning the league..its the facts that he hasnt managed them right that gets my goat
To come out and say his support is down to religious reasons is the most crass and puerile comment I have heard on this forum. I take it if we now win the league and the cup you wont be celebrating. You would have to have a neck that a blowtorch couldnt scorch to say otherwise given your comments.

of course i will be celebrating like * if it happens but i stand by everything ive said about the man..you are like a load of other people getting criticism of lennon mixed up with critcism of celtic i was supporting celtic a long time before nei lennon was heard of & ill be supporting celtic for a long time after

If the team goes out and wins the last 3 games and rangers drop points will everyone still say "Lennons still a * manager, get him to *" ???
