    Hey,
Firstly let me give you the details of the car, Its a 2005 leon 1.9TDi 110bhp. Ive been having a weird problem thats only started yesterday, before it ive had not a single problem with the car at all.

I was out driving around yesterday and when I got home just parked the car outside the house. It was literally stopped for 2minutes, and when I went back to the car to head out again the pre-heating light came on in an orange colour and wouldn't go off. The car temp was still sitting at 90 cause it didn't have the chance to cool down. When I tried to start the car nothing at all happened, it wouldn't turn over and I couldn't hear anything from the engine. Tried again and again but still no joy getting it started.

Left the car alone for an hour or so (I was in some mood), and after a while I thought id chance my arm and try it again and sure enough the car started no problem. I thought at the time everything was sweet again until I went out driving today. Car started up no problem when cold, but when it got warmed up it was as if the car went completely dead. Had to push start it to get home. Got home and let the car cool down and it starts up not a problem again.

Has anyone any suggestions to the problem? The pre-heating light only comes on now for a second when the car is cold before it is started up, it doesn't stay lit like it did yesterday. My bro checked the heater plugs already so we know it aint that.

    Thanks for the help :50:

Cant say I know that much about cars tbh mate but if it just happened all of a sudden (as in it was not a gradual process that you would have noticed) then I would hazard a guess that it will be a sensor. Possibly an O2 one, assuming the car has one which I think it will. Its also known as a lambda sensor and if you can find one at a decent price for your car, I would take a gamble on that.

Obviously check to make sure your car uses one but I'd be surprised if it does not.

Stop inserting your profanity into it and it should be fine!

Thanks guys, got the same post stuck in the seat leon owners club. They have a few ideas, been checkin round online for symptoms and I seen what you are on about PoD. Gona get the O2 filter checked 2moro incase its a oxygen/fuel ratio problem, seem that it could be a problem with the right signals being sent to the brain when its not a cold start. On the other hand it could be the starter and not enough power being sent when its hot.

If its not one thing its another thing, just like football i suppose. Love hate relationship for sure :icon_mrgreen:

sounds like a fuel problem mate, if you had any work done to it, possible fuel pipes round the wrong way or fuel temp fault, had the same problem with a few of vw's just exact same setup.
