You can teach him to trail players and tackle harder, but you cant train players to have the ability he has.

Simple as that, the management and board seem to really value and support him, so should the fans.

Haven't agreed with everything you have said but I totally agree with this post. Give Ki time and he'll become a key player for us, I'm convinced he'll be a star, whether it's here or elsewhere.

He's been here for 2 years in one of the most physical leagues around and he still refuses to tackle hard or follow his man. How long do you want to give him ? If he went to the Premiership he would be found out fairly quickly.

with kayal been out for a while now ki will come back in which ill be happy to see ki is a good player and he is improving all the time even started adding goals to his game and he is also trying to change is game and get stuck in more often for me he is well ahead of brown but its a hard choice between him and ledley as he is brilliant player in his right position in the centre mid

I don't actually know where this refusal to track and tackle comes from, admittedly he's not as good at it as defensive players such as Wanyama or Kayal but he certainly makes up for it in other areas of his game. We normally play 3 central midfielders anyway, so that'll help him out.

Is this the same Ki that bossed the game when we had 10 men against the huns?

You'd think not the way some people are slagging him.

Dont think so, lately players who arent hardworking have become popular down there compared to previous years. Silva, Mata, Adam, Chung Yong, Van der Vaart, Cabaye, Ramsey, Arteta, Fellaini, Bannan etc

He's better than a few of them and is 22. A lot of teams in England and further aborad would love Ki in their squads.

Infact Chung Yong is probably worth £8-12million and Ki is probably better than him although Ki doesnt play in the Premiership.

He's better than Barry Bannan who is in and out a mid-table team.

the only one you could even argue would be Bannan but personally I think Bannan is a better player, anyone else on that list is miles better than Ki.

Silva, Mata, Adam, Chung Yong, Van der Vaart, Cabaye, Ramsey, Arteta and Fellaini are all better than him.

I don't even know why some of these are mentioned ? Ramsay and Cabaye are strong tacklers and Fellaini is incredibly physical. Both are competent at defending. Charlie Adam also throws himself into 50/50 challenges. The rest are out of Ki's league, whilst Chung Yong is a winger !

Sorry but he is not exactly a bad tackler, he just plays football with a bit of style rather than running after every player/ball like a headless chicken looking for a red card.

Players like Ki raise the standard of our league.

And as for your EPL comment, players seen as less talented as him from the same country are holding their own.

Do you even support celtic mate? Seriously you should behind any player that wears the hoops.

He has not has his chance to prove his ability in leagues such as that, but whenever he is given the test he is one of the best at what he does, he has a staggerlingly impressive pass acc % both short and long range, he also has this uncanny ability to play football at a normal pace and effortlessly seems to open up space around him.

Never mind the fact he is the only player I see in the hoops that smiles when he is playing. At 22 he is fantastically talented.

How am I not behind him ? When he is on the park he gets my full support but does that mean I need to believe he should be in the starting 11 ? I am not going to sit here and say he should be playing when there are 4 players in his position who are more willing to play for the jersey. In regards to his age, Forster, Matthews, Izaguirre, Rogne, Wanyama, Forrest, Ledley, Kayal, Hooper, Stokes etc are all around the same age so I don't see why he should get away with his shortcomings.

And he smiles when he plays ? Oh * I should have realised. Well I guess that means we have a cracking player on our hands.

The boy is not a bad player but we have 4 guys who I would rather see in there and if anything near the money being touted is offered, I would drive him down myself.

So you think Bannan would get a game for South Korea about the 12-15th best International team in the world when he cant get a game for Scotland :97:

You need a mixture of quality and work rate though, we'll need Ki for hun and European games for extra quality.

Creative players haven't been appreciated as much in the SPL recently. His talent is undeniable and with over 40 caps to his name at the age of 22, I would think it's only a matter of time before a club playing in a better league than us come calling.

He's not always the best option when teams play five in the middle against us, on a winters day when we're needing to scrap for every single bit of possession but he's the best passer of the ball at the club. Lennon rates him highly and there's no doubt that Ki will play his part this season.

His lack of defensive ability has been exaggerated massively in this thread, he's worked tremendously hard on that and I don't think that it's a glaring weakness in his game, to be perfectly honest.

I rate Ki and when he does eventually play for another club, we'll be wondering why we didn't realise such talent on our books until he was gone. I trust Ki whenever he steps onto that pitch.
