Lenny picked the wrong players today!

Well like the title says i think lennon got it wrong today.
I dont see why we had to play that formation & certain players today.

After our storming 4-0 win during the week why was there a need to change things?

Are we scared of Rang*rs now??
But if it was necessary to go with those tactics today then in my opinon we shoulda dropped Hooper not Stokes to play alongside Samaras,,imo Hooper just isnt right for this style of holding the ball up & bringing others into play,,unless he gets the ball passed directly to him or a yard or so directly in front then he isnt intrested,,whilst both Samaras & Stokes are great at finding space,winning balls & holding it up to bring the midfielders into it,even if Sammy does frustrate sometimes by holding on to it too much..no doubt ill get slaughtered here for daring to speak out against Lennon but thats my opinon & as a Celtic supporter for 25 + years i am entitled to it as anyone else.

Also can anyone else tell me why Commons was dropped,,the goals he has chipped in with so far has been one of the highlights of the season so to drop him for such a big game is a mystery to me!?!

Otherwise i was happy with that performance today despite not getting the 3 points that in the end i thought we deserved,standout player for me was Kayal,i just wish the boy had a slightly better shot on him today but he was still magnificent.

Heres hoping we get full points in the run-in & bring the title back to where it belongs!!!!

 

Have to agree definitely got the team wrong i thought particularly not starting commons, sammy and hooper didnt gel at all.

 

Agree but he was more worried about dropping 3points today and really settled for a draw without going all out to win the game really we might look at this as the the point that won the league or lost it .

 

Samaras shouldnt of started, poor managment by Lennon, the only reason he plays imo is becuase if they get freekicks or corners, to provide some height, I really hoped we went with stokes and hooper, Stokes can do much more, unlock a defence with a pass or a flcik and can finish given the chance. Hooper also had a quiet game today, nobody will notice that becuase he is "hooper" and he cant be critisised

 

I think because he knew how important it was to not lose, so he didn't go too attacking so that we didn't get caught out at the back.

I agree with you, but I'm never confident of going to Ibrox, so always willing to take a point.
Too many times over the years we have dominated Rangers only to be beaten by a break away goal.
Lennon went more defensive today, think he knew that we'd have to suffer long periods of Rangers pushing, most of his choices worked in that situation, but Samaras was back to his frustraiting self, knew he was going to miss the penalty.

I'll take the draw, hopefully that'll be the toughest game we have to face, still a lot to play for.

 

I actually thought Samaras played well today except of course he shoulda scored the penalty but the rapist made a good save for it too,,i can see why Lenny brings Samaras into old firm games i just dont want it to be at the expense of Stokes,not on the form he is on,,look at the diffrence when stokes came on he won us the penalty right away,, i hate us going out looking like we are scared & with the line up geared to play for a draw,we have enough in our squad to have went there today & hammered them,we coulda passed out fought & out played them off the park that to me is the Celtic way & while im not here to call for lennys head i am far from impressed either to be honest!

We're in a position where we can afford to drop points in the run in. McGregor gets man of the match.....for a good reason too.

If we'd have lost 3 points today we'd have been *.

Well done Lenny, well done to the bhoys. No-one stood out for us today, but we have our future in our own hands.

 

tbh we should have won and we didnt concede, so despite the average display, it worked

 

Sammy is a lone striker, wants to do everything on his own. Hooper and stokes need partners who are willing to link up and work for each other - no striker can link with samaras IMO but he had to play today because of the lack of height else where in the team.

Job done whether we should have went for it or not we got what we wanted and its down to us to win the rest of the games now.

Well i was reasonably happy with the performance, even with the penalty personally the draw was a fair result in the end, while the huns didn't trouble forster directly i still think the created quite a few good opportunities but didn't hit the target and celtic had probably two clear cut ones with majs header and the penalty.

This is a game that we have not lost which was crucial, the title is in our own hands now, and its up to the players imo they need to win 4/5 remaining matches and ideally all of them, its crunch time, lets see what kind of team mentality we really have when we play inverness and United.

 

I said who i woulda played ,,if i was going with them tactics i woulda played Stokes instead of Hooper & Commons instead of an injured Ledley,

& where did i call Lennon a *,, i have great respect for the guy but im entitled to call it when i think he gets it wrong.

Sometimes you get the impression on here that Lennon is some untouchable demi-* that no one can say a word against or the old head banging against the wall smiley comes out!

well in my opinion NO ONE is bigger than Celtic Football Club,think about that!!!!!

 

Lennon onced again got his tactics spot on... we played for the draw and got it!.

 

Neil got the tactics right and wrong today.

Samaras shouldnt have started, he was * the whole match. And when he took the penalty Im sure no-one was convinced he was gonna score. Just a headless chicken the whole match. Hardly won a header and did sod all.

Second mistake was not starting Commons who has been on fire for us. In playing Ledley he has worsened his injury and he will be out for the rest of the season. That was a big gamble that hasnt played off.

When Stokes did come on he did more in 15 minutes than Sammy did in 90.

Hooper cant play with Samaras that much is clear. So who do you play? A guy that is gonna get you 20+ a season or Sammy?

I am * delighted with the result today, a draw is fantastic for us. But we got lucky. Of that there is no doubt. And when we had our one chance to win the match, and seal the title. It was left to a player who couldnt hit a coos erse wie a banjo.

we never lost and 2 major factors that we did not win the game 1 samaras missing the pen and that vile scum bag in goals for rangers or we would have won the game and none of these threads would have been made.....

lennon never got it wrong today we looked better when commons came on stokes but they had fresh legs
