There is nothing about Wilson's game that I don't like now. As someone else said, he's been through a lot of * in his Celtic career so far with all those injuries and stuff. 2011 has really been his breakout year. He has scored against Aberdeen, Rangers and Dundee United since the turn of the year, pretty good for a RB.

The good thing is we still have Cha, Hinkel (when he recovers) and Juarez to cover him at RB, although I predict one of them will leave in the summer, especially with young Adam Matthews coming in.

Hey if I was at right back and had Broony in front of me I'd be inclined to hoof it straight over the midfield too.

Seriously though, I don't really see where this is coming from. Wilson, Cha before him and Hinkel before that are all very inclined to actually push up the wing and try to play a little, rather than just punt it up the park.

I am happy with the way Wilson is playing and his approach to the game, however I am not a fan of Brown, and thought he was overall very average today, I would like to ask those that believe he was above average today was he the best player in our midfield ahead of Kayal, Ledley, or Commons, because I sure dont!

Thers no way am going to criticise Wilson on the way he plays as he has been superb since he came back in the team. Some of the balls he plays long end up being dangerous, i say he keeps doing what hes doing. If Wilson is to be criticised for this then surely Izzy should be criticised for overplaying at the back instead of clearing his lines

Show me a right-back or any defender that doesn`t punt the ball long during a game.

Disappointing to hear him being critiscised as a player who simply hoofs the ball. You can be sure that he is a defender first and will clear his lines when in trouble, like all defenders should. However , this season since he came in he has been fantastic at getting forward and overlapping.Has put in some wonderful crosses throughout, even today could have set up commons in the first minute and at the end had the energy and desire to get in the box to set up Maloney.

Just a great player for us this season.

This game is a classic example, if he has no ideas, he just lets fly without any luck

This is spot on - so infuriating. A lot to do with brown being so far inside and nobody giving a good option down the line but wilson has been poor so far

I was gonna re-open this thread as well.

He hasn't passed it to any of our players today.

Bad game today. Might be the best of our right backs but its hard to justify why some people want to give him POTY.

The truth is by his standards hes having a good season, does that mean hes a very good RB? imo it does not, we need to look for much better, a technically better player than he is, who is much more comfortable in possesion and passing, sounds a bit like Hinkel that

Of for jesus sake did any of you even read what the op posted, all of you jumping the gun thinking its criticism, read what he said and i agree, a lump up the park does happen often from wilson, sometimes it works really well sometimes it doesn't.

I think the reason wilson does this is because if you look at his style of play when he receives the ball he needs an extra second to set himself and because of this players like wylde close him down quite quickly and so for fear of losing possession he will hit it long.

Its a sensible approach most times but at the same time as a supporter can sometimes be hard to watch because you always want the ball to be played on the ground.

    * me, one game where he doesn't shine, and they want someone else in for him instead. Wilson has had a fantastic season. He's never had the ability to prove himself because of injuries, and now hes had a season relatively injury free, and he's shown how good he can be. He does punt the ball every now and then, and like it has been said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But he's still the best right back we have.

your 100 percent right ,if he had of been caught on the ball and rangers scored then we would have something to complain about!!!
