4-4-2 aint going to work, beat the * in midfield with either stokes or maloney sitting behind Samaras and the games ther for the taking, that big * just drags defenders intae allsorts of positions for our midfield to take advantage of (especially when the celtic midfield this season has shown they can actualy score goals)

and im only saying stokes or maloney if hooper is still injured

Id go with this to, id bring sammy on if were not doing well, dropping a midfielder during the game. depening on how the game is going! But If we dominate the midfield then i think we will win!

I wonder how they will line up, wi the 5 at the back or what.

We play our strongest team ffs!!

Does anyone seriously want to gamble at this stage of the season? The experiment worked with Sammy in a couple of games, other than that he has been *. Ki was okay till Xmas, since he came back, he has, for the most part, been average. The last few games have shown that we need the midfield of Brown, Kayal, Ledley and Commons playing in midfield and Hooper and Stokes up top.

Defence will hopefully be Wilson, Mulgrew, Rogne and Izzy.

    * me, we have people on here conjuring up all sorts of scenarios when the answer is obvious.

Anyone who thinks Murphy had a better game than Samaras on Tuesday must be on the Buckfast. This irrational Sammy hatred has to stop, it's getting ridiculous and transcends the boundaries of logic and rational thinking...

As for playing the Hoops and stokesy combo against the Huns, this is no time for tiny tots, this is the clash of the titans, especially in midfield where Broony must play and up front where we will be up against the physical goliaths in Boughera and the other clump-footed giants. We need a mix of strength/height and guile which can only be provided by a big man little man combo - either Hoops and Sammy or Maloney and Sammy. Either way, we need Big Sammy to get on the end of high balls and to run them ragged like he did before.

It's very interesting to read the comments from some people who usually don't want Sammy in the team and want to sell "the big useless streak of pish". But when it comes to our hardest game, against our most talented and best quality opposition, the same people want Sammy in the team. Reality must've hit them like a bolt of thunder in the face and their hatred of Sammy goes out the window....only to return again when we beat the Huns and sammy is no longer needed again...a more ungrateful and spoilt bunch of hypocrites i've yet to meet..

And for those who don't want Sammy to play against the Huns because they think he's "*", they are just putting their own personal pride before the good of the team, they simply don't want Sammy to play because he might just win us the game and prove them wrong AGAIN. It will make them look silly AGAIN if Sammy wins us the game cos they're always on about how pish he is, so they prefer he doesn't play. In other words, they put their own personal ego before the good of our team.

The bottom line is this (which even the staunchest Sammy bashers can't deny):
Sammy has proved himself so many times in the big games, the lad's a Hunskelper extraordinaire, he's run circles around Bougherra and made Whittaker look like the clump-footed ball-whacker that he is. There is no better player to play against the gers than sammy.
The only reason why people can possibly exclude Sammy from this game is because they feel that he may prove them wrong again by putting in another Hunskelping performance and making the detractors look extremely silly (again)..

We can all have our opinions who should play but at the end of the day the man who's best placed to judge is Neil Lennon.

He wont play Stokes and will play Samaras. (hence Stokes played in St.Mirren game and Samaras didn't.)

He sees these players every day and will decide who's up to the task.

And we all know who he'll pick.

if it was me id go 4-4-2 with what is quite obviously our strongest 11. The rangers team does not merit any special fear or tactics, we all think were the better team by miles, the players think it, time for us to go out there and show it.

Lets concentrate on Aberdeen on sunday. Then Kilmarnock. Then we simply set up to annihilate them on Easter Sunday. Were more than capable. We should be relentless and take it to the * at every opportunity. Anything other than a win is a not a missed oppertunity, but a disaster.

Absolutely - nothing wrong with taking things literally!

I'd be very happy to give them a good tanking, hammer them, hose them, pulverise them and thrash them.
As for taking them to the cleaners, it would be a public service.

Just as long as we're no' humping them. :eek1: :56:

:50: 100% agree with you on this mate. I was in Perth for the game against St Johnstone and even though Sammy took a beasting from the Saints players he got on with the job and worked his socks off. Murphy on the other hand was just clueless and pish. Sammy is a must to start against the manky mob as he has pace, strength, skill and class. He will be up for this game - make no mistake and i am sure that he will not let the celtic faithful down. Let's back Sammy and support him the way we support every Celtic player who pulls on the hoops!

i wouldnt risk going 442 against the huns 5 man midfield in a game that first and foremost we cant afford to lose.
This team should give us control in midfield and plenty of support for hooper up top.

Im pretty sure lennon will pick sammy though probably in a 4411 formation with hooper up top and sammy in behind to win knock ons and hold the ball up.

As everyone knows, it's totally unpredictable the way the game will pan out. I'll trust in whoever Lennon puts out on that park, I'd imagine it'll be a strong side and hopefully we'll go on to win the league. :50:

I think the defence and midfield picks itself really, and if big Maj is fit, he's in. But I would definitely start with Stokes and Hooper up front. As someone said earlier, if Samaras plays, he will either win it for us or we will be like a man down....is that a risk worth taking in the most important game of the season?
