Wonder if all the Gers fans will be getting Hooper on the back of their England tops.

Even if Hooper scored 30 plus in the SPL this season he would never get a look in for the England full squad! Sutty could not get a sniff and he was deadly for us and for Blackburn.

What happened with Sutty was more complicated. He would have been selected in the 1998 world cup only for him and Hoddle didn't see eye to eye.

Brilliant for the guy and fully deserved. :50:

Credit to Stuart Pearce for breaking the stigma, although let's hope he get's him on the pitch and it's not just a token gesture.

Surprised to read he has been called up to the u21s. I think he's good enough to make the senior squad, personally. Time will tell...

Is this his first call up? Suprised he got one considering the game he was scouted during the most recent old firm game wich wasnt his best but they must have heard about his other preformances in the majority of games,( 3-0 sticks out in my mind and wnt b forgoten for a long time:icon_mrgreen:) listening to talksport and other radios down south they are definetly all aware of his quality. Its a real accknowlment of how good he is because there is an awful look of young english talent in and around the epl and championship. Got to be honest though and say am devestaded to read he has a scottish granny born on the borders(wrong side obv):54:. Great to see he is getting recognition that he is due.

Well deserved call up for Hooper, just a pity he didn't quite qualify for Scotland.

Really great for Hooper, very glad for him, was hoping he would have a Scottish relative though! On the other hand if he does well I'm sure he will be catching the eye of a few Premiership clubs.

He is in with the likes of Sunderlands Jordan Henderson, Micah Richards, Kieran Gibbs and Mark Davies... these are very high profile English premiership players so for Hooper to be called up probably shows that there is intent to get him in the 1st team!!

One Gary Hooper! Lenny and our scouting staff have unearthed a gem in this lad! his touch amazes me sometimes and is about as natural a goalscorer youre going to find in any team.

Such a genuine lad aswell, its man love lads! Gwon yourself Hooper:icon_mrgreen:
