Suppose he did take abuse from some people myself included tbh, but it is because the style of his play was quietly effect were as we had quality football players in our team who got the attention but when lennon wasnt in the team it was easy for people to get to the defence, also i could imagine the impact he would have on his team mates with his agressive attitude and constantly urging them on. I agree he is not legend in the managerial status but in term of at celtic hes definetly one.

l don't think anyone of us would be able to carry on our day to day jobs under the extreme pressure that Lennie is being put under. He might be able to appear to be handling it but when it starts affecting your wife and kids then that is a different matter.

He is a very wealthy man with a villa in Portugal and although l would'nt want it l would fully respect his decision to walk away in the summer. Lennie or his agent are'nt exactly going to announce it when we are going for the treble.

If he does then maybe the sad excuse that is the SFA and Strathclydes finest might get their * fingers out and deal with the * bigotory that goes on in this shitehole of a country but l would'nt hold my breath.

COmpletely true! MM is a terrible manager! He's just shocking! You listen to him speak and he just chats so much rubbish! Don't want him anywhere near Celtic, despite him being a former player! It means nothing! He's s***e!!!

If lennon leaves i stop supporting celtic how can u support a team that manager has to leave becuase of threats and that no one except celtic fans are backing him to stick at it !!! It's a disgrace LENNON goes we should all go and just ruin the spl because without us there is no SPL

Again..i agree with the sentiment, but that kind of statement just puts enormous pressure on the man himself. He doesnt need that kind of burden as well intentioned as it is.

Your definitely not imagining things I remember that too... used to get real dog's abuse from some sections no matter what happened.

He is a legend as a player and as much as I absolutely love having him as a manager just now i've got to agree that until he's won things he can't be called a legend as a manager :50:

Tbh even if - * forbid - we end up somehow trophyless this season I still would not get rid of him he's had the thunder back good and proper and despite the bans he's bound to keep getting I would - as i said to my mate the other day - much prefer him and everything he brings with him on the touchline to head-in-yer-hands mowbray :31: :50:

not a chance people should be talking about disbanding or not following celtic if lennon goes. i know its very different circumstances from what its intended for but the old "no one man is bigger than the club" cliché still applies in my book. if worst case scenario (well 2nd worst but lets not think about the worst) he is forced out then give the job to his assistants who will be * sure fired up to go out and win everything for him. thats what would get back at the idiots who are currently intent on driving him out not everyone saying * this and walking away.
as far as has been mentioned regarding the media, sfa, police, rangers i think its a pretty mixed bag rather than the every one of them should be hanging their heads in shame that seems to be the consensus.
the media firstly i think are at least partly responsible. theres the scotland on sunday article someones linked to on this site and the sportsound special last week which acknowledged that a large part of this comes from the fact he is an irish catholic. other than that what i have seen is mostly focusing on him as an aggressor though they usually stop just short of coming out and saying that he brings it on himself.
to be honest i'm not sure what anyone expects the sfa/spl to do? come out and condemn it? whats that going to achieve? i'm sure most folk are sensible enough to realise they do not approve of anyone working within their jurisdiction being subjected to what neil is being subjected to and personally i don't think they are under any obligation to comment on it for the sake of commenting on it.
the police i suppose we need to take at their word that they are investigating the threats and it was promising to see the first minister talking about the forums.
as for rangers again i have mixed opinions on their level of responsibility. on the one hand i feel that a statement condemning these actions and making clear that these people are not welcome at ibrox would be a welcome statement of intent from over the city but on the other it would probably achieve nothing more than aggravate and antagonise the brain dead element of their support. would i rather they stayed silent than risk making the situation worse? yes. in saying that however i think there is absolutely no doubt that the behaviour of the players and coaching staff in the cup replay have played a massive part in all this. the cardigan sent his team out to kick us off the park and when that didn't work they lost their cool which was the catalyst for all this. mccoist twice had to be dragged away from lennon, diouf had to be dragged away from lennon and all of these incidents happened with neil lennon standing within his technical area. to me that suggests that lennon was not the instigator as reported in our media.

just to add a wee bit regarding the "brings it on himself" argument. i can understand fans might not like him for the kind of player he was, people all over the country -myself included - hate ian black and lee mcculloch for the type of player they are thats fair enough for those who that is genuinely why they dislike lennon, no complaints from me, but if lennons only crime was that he was an aggressive midfielder then why has the "stick" he receives always been so amplified since he moved to scotland. also he's hardly the first manager to lose his cool on the touchline or question a referee is he walter?

When Lennon first become manager and he came out with his 'thunder' interview i was saying to my dad how i thought Lennon would be here for many years to come like Ferguson has been at United, and to be honest i'd be very happy with Lennon as manager for many years to come.

IF Lenny ever decided to leave Celtic we will have no more problems than usual obtaining a new manager. Lenny has the terrible problems he has had to deal with due to his deep love of the club, his abrasive style of play in his playing days and the deep routed bigit fueled hatred rangers fans have for him.

No other manager we could appoint other than Roy Keane (and hopefully we won't ever appoint him..Great player....not so great manager) would ever attract the same amount of annamosity as is shown toward Neil.

I hope Neil Lennon stays with the club for a long, long time.....I think he has the qualities to become a truly great manager and hopefully that is with Celtic FC.

Personally, I don't even want to have to contemplate a new manager as a possibility.....I am well happy with the way we are progressing with Lenny.
