pedro is up against weaker defences in the la liga aswell, look at what nasri is doing to defences in the epl, imagine him up against weak spanish defences like hercules, malaga etc, he would rip them an * hole the size of the grand canyon

 

See this is the thing everyone goes on about how the EPL is the best league in the world! But the best footballing side from the EPL was just shown up by the best footballing side in La Liga.

 

aye but barca are better than any team in the epl, but the lower teams in the epl are better than the lower teams in la liga, malaga etc are probably like mid championship level sides, if ye know what i mean lol

It is the best league in the world.

Barca are pretty much only serious contender for CL from Primera, while there are usually 2-3 English sides constantly reaching at least quarter-finals, in recent years even 2 or 3 English teams in semis and there's often a finalist from England.

I don't think Villa is the best in the world in the position, but others do. I think Drogba. This opinion affects nothing.

 

This is what annoys me about EPL fans, this is just simply not true. If the EPL was so good all the way through the league then surely it would dominate the UEFA Cup every year? Did Atleti not dominate Liverpool and Fulham both last year in the semis and the final?

The Premiership is good at the top, the Primera is good at the top, but the quality throughout the league is in my opinion better in Spain. The reason teams get hammered by Barca and Madrid is that teams go and try to play agaisnt them, to try to beat them. In England, how many lower table teams go to Old Trafford, or The Emirates and actually try to play football and win the game? These teams come and park the bus and rely on things like long throw ins (Stoke, surely the worst footaballing side in Europe) and quick breaks to maybe get a draw.

Contrary to what Sky would have you believe, there is also more competition in Spain. Since the EPL started more teams have won the Primera than have won the EPL, and there have been more different Champions League entrants. If the EPL is so competitive why do Man Utd win it two out of every three years?

 

I'm sure Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, Jonhson, Walcott, Wiltshere and many more would disagree.

 

Hercules are a decent team: Trezeguet, Kiko Femenia, Valdez (WC international), Drenthe etc . I think they would beat the likes of Wigan . The second bottom team Almeria have players like Pablo Piatti - I think the bottom teams of La Liga are better than their EPL counterparts .
