A four year contract is fat too serious for a player who has been no more that a supporting actor for his time here, other than a couple of good games against the huns. 2 years yes, but * sake, 4 more years of him spinning round in the middle of the park, running down blind alleys and missing sitters beggars belief.

Paddy McCourt has contributed far more and is Mr Consistent compared to Shammy

In what way? I loveee Paddy, but Geiorgois has played more, scored more and assisted more, scored against Rangers, and in European games.

This season Paddy has had a greater impact than Sammy, in fact , up till Xmas he was one of our better players whilst Sammy had still to kick a ball. Sammy has only played 3 or 4 games of note this season. All against the huns and I cant really think of any others.

I am not going to argue with The Gaffer , and if he feels he s worth another contract then great, I personally feel that we could use the funds a bit better. Given that we still have Murphy in the side who is pretty ineffectual, I would have real concerns next season if Hooper was to get injured. Does this now mean that we wont be looking for another striker in the summer?? We also have Rasmussen on loan.

He boggen; but seems to do good against the Huns so I hope he stays.

But I think we would manage without him

    Sammy Signs New Deal

    Samaras agrees Bhoys stay

Celtic to retain Greece international marksman

Last updated: 16th March 2011 [IMG]

    [IMG] Samaras: Agrees new deal
    SKY SPORTS ON SKY

Skysports.com understands that Celtic striker Georgios Samaras has agreed a new three-year contract.
Samaras' existing deal was due to expire in the summer and he would have been able to leave the club on a free transfer had fresh terms not been finalised.
The ex-Manchester City marksman has been a key performer for Neil Lennon's[IMG] side this season, including a brace in a 2-0 win at Rangers[IMG] in January.
Last summer Samaras' future looked unclear, but he has won over Lennon and the Bhoys boss recently admitted he was 'very, very pleased' with his displays.
Celtic[IMG] have now moved to secure the 26-year-old's services for the long term in a deal that should make the Greece international one of the highest-paid players at Parkhead.

Yaas he's finally signed a new deal! Oh Ah Samaras!

lol and to think that majority of us fans wanted shot of him. i'm not fussed either way. hope his wages aren't that much improved. he only has 4 or 5 good games a season. hope he proves me wrong and becomes more consistent. still think we need another good striker in the summer if we are to compete on all fronts.

the majority of fans wanted shot of him as he WAS at the lowest point in his career- and his celtic career. He's been a thorn in Rangers though.

May I add, he could be usefull in Europe if we get a sniff? 1 striker up front, or partner Hooper.

I wouldnt have signed him. In the time he has been with us I dont recall him being outstanding at any other point outwith the last couple of games against the huns. Happy to go along with what Lenny is doing though.
