When was the last time the league or ireland was on tv outside ireland...one of there teams played in europe....bought a player from anywhere but up the road.
would you really want to be the only team to win the league for 10/20/30/40/50/60/70years.
The only time we would lose is if the club got bored and didnt turn up for a game.:56:

league of ireland no chance. wed have 10,000 fans turning up each week and wont be able to play in europe, our best playher would be someone like darren odea, niall mcginn and even they would be sold staright away

I would gladly see us start at the bottom rung of the English leagues and see us progress up to the EPL. It might take us 7 or 8 years to achieve this and we would miss the Euro nights at Paradise but we need to change and we need to start some where.

We are getting no where in this poisoned little back water.

Would rather stay in better organised, well run and competitive SPL than move anywhere. The EPL is a fake. Proud of the fact we don't spend 20 million on primadonnas.

epl is an option alright, but not gonna happen any time soon. LOI would not do us any good. but lads, you have a very high opinion of the spl. take celtic and them other * out of the equation and you are left with, at best, the eqivalent of the LOI. aberdeen, hearts, dundee utd, etc would be just about LOI standard. so dont be thinking the spl is anything special. no matter how bad a team we have in any season, we always have a 50-50 chance of winning the league. sorry for going off topic a bit.

I would move to the EPL but doubt they would have us. Some pundits say the Old Firm would bring greater excitement to the Premiership but most wouldnt want the added competition. For example, Celtic Park is the second biggest club stadium in Britain (only Old Trafford is bigger), and our global fanbase is probably only surpassed by Man United and Liverpool. I think though that until Sky TV want us we will be stuck in the SPL.

League of Ireland is a stupid suggestion because the only reason to move leagues is to better the club not worsen it. Also we can drive to away matches in England but would have to fly to go see us take on all the * teams in that league.

The LOI is on its knees, no TV revenue, no support, the FAI are a joke of an organization, Bohemian FC are the only club in ireland who own their ground and even they are struggling to stay part time. This would be a major step backwards for celtic. The only wat we would be allowed join the EPL would be with rangers in some sort of GB league, and i cant see smaller EPL teams voting for anything like that.

Im sure if push came to shove and Celtic really wanted to resign from the SPL , they could entertain a full season of glamour matches against clubs from Europe and across the world while they explore other avenues , including buying their way into another league setup.
