Anyone who says the SPL is that bad is a *. Ok its not great but it is championship standard outwith the old firm. Players from the SPL have been successful in the EPL, for example Charlie Adam, Barry Ferguson, McFadden and Stephen Fletcher. Larsson went from the SPL to virtually winning the chamions league for Barca. The SPL is an OK league but it obviously isnt going to compare to the EPL which is officially the best league in the world.

PS Newcastle can go * themselves; they are a typical "make up the numbers" premierhsip team that will never win anything.

 

It would be tight tbh rangers at full strength could turn newcastle over imo and vice versa i think newcastle could beat them.
The thing is alot of teams have trouble playing against rangers because of their formation rather than individual players, newcastle imo have better players but the huns tactics could easily give them the upper hand as shown in europe, wouldn't be alot in it either way.

 

first of all, we aren't going to agree on Newcastle v Rangers in a game- I'd think Newcastle would win- but they may not. Outwith that I feel Newcastle have a better side and squad than Rangers. One off results can happen, but I still think Newcastle are better.

I'd say both teams would be favourites if they were at home. I think it would be narrow margins. Celtic are so much better than Rangers just now

Since its inception in 1992 Only Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Blackburn (once) have won the league.

Out of the 18 years it has been running Man Utd have won it 11 times.
Arsenal - 3 and Chelsea - 3 Blackburn -1

The english is always a 2-3 horse race now due to the money and players wanting to play for a team with either obscene amounts of money or history eg Chelsea or Man utd.
As usual the media hype up everything they do but the reality is completely different.If they were that good they would have won the world cup or european championships over the last 50 years but have they? Have they *. Best league in the world bar none is la liga and they only have usually two winners aswell. All the top leagues are pretty much the same!
