What this means is that someone has to take responsibility and inform the police that a procession will be happening, the proposed route and how many will likely attend.

    Doesn't mean they'll stop.

    Pretty much.

As easy as it is to moan about orange walks and call it a double standard, I'm pretty sure they're planned well in advance and the police always have measures in place should anything go wrong, like with all mass gatherings of folk.

Just for the info of the police, myself and 5 friends will be on a procession from Central Station , along argyle street heading towards the Gallowgate. Where the procession will stop of for some light refreshment before re-grouping and restarting the procession along the same route towards Celtic Park. Anyone wishing to join or procession please do, make sure your early as the route is busy.

    In Egypt? Riiiiiiiight.

I didn't realise police wanting info about people getting to the football in a parade and recent events in egypt were comparable, you'll have to tell me how you've come to this conclusion.

Nobody hates the orange walks more than myself,(especially when its stopping me getting from A to B) but as long as its planned months in advance with the police and the local council then everyone in this country has the right to march. Maybe you can organise one for early next season from the town to Celtic park.

I hope you're right Minty,it'd be outrageous if these were stopped because of the police. They're good natured and have no sectarian agenda, just a group of supporters having a good time.

See, it must be the way I'm readin that, but it's not discouraging any of these "parades" as the website calls it. In fact, they're almost encouragin it.

Celtic are listing the ways in which the corteos should be organised, and they mention it more than once. So in my opinion, they're not sayin stop them, they're advisin what we should do in the future...therefore, encouragin us to do it!!!

But if I remember rightly, there hasn't been any trouble with any of the corteos so far, and the police have been notified, hence the reason they went with the corteo. The article doesn't say no corteos, just if you're organising one make yourself known to the authorities and don't cause trouble.
