izzaguire, bought him for 1million, he is being watched by, liverpool, man utd, real madrid, newcastle, westham and arsenal, he said he wasn't interested in leaving celtic as he is settled in well with the team, man utd are interested in buying him for 10 million, lennon won't sell him but the celtic board will want to :\ we can't replace him for 10 million, after all he still has 3 years left on his contract, All we are paying him is 5 grand a week, the best player in scotland just now, has one of the lowest wages at parkhead, now who's tae say celtic can compare wages with teams like man utd or arsenal or real madrid

He might be worth more to us if we keep him :86: On form just now we could very well win the treble and qualify for Europe :celt_2: Think of all the money that would bring.......Europe plus sales of merchandise (dvds of the treble :84:) This guy is part of what has brought the feelgood factor back and this will reflect on season ticket and merchandise sales. I think the club would be very stupid to sell him.

I dont imagine for a minute that the board are looking at selling him, however, every player has a price. And if we got an outrageous figure it would be considered. No doubt.

Nothing is gonna happen till we win the league anyways.

What we should be doing is sitting down with him and tieing him up to a longer, and better contract. Outrageous that he is apparently the lowest paid player in the first team squad.

few people ever said we could.

However, his wage now is simply comparable to his wage at his last club. To sign the guy off a good world cup, but with no european experience and give him a big wage would be irresponsible. Now that he has shown himself to be such a * good player, I believe the best course of action would be to up his wage significantly (up to double?) and get the 5 year maximum allowable contract.

This team looks to have so many pieces in place that so long as the team wage structure isn't putting us into debt, we'd have little reason to sell first teamers. Granted we are in some bit of debt right now, but its at a sustainable level, especially if we're not forced to buy more people.

He is a class player, its just annoying me how everytime a good player develops in the SPL then the Premier League * them off us. Thats why Celtic & Rangers have been forced to buy lower quality players than they used to.

But he is a footballer, celtic are playing we atm but when we start doing that booting the baw up the park rubbish, it gets boring to watch, when izzaguire gets the ball, none of that booting up the ball rubbish is done by him ? He has talent, he flies up and down that left back making runs for 90 mins, he doesnt panic at all, he skins players at the back without a problem, anyways, in scottish football thats all you see, but with celtic team now, we rarely boot the ball up the park!

Its not something that we can really complain about mate. We have done it to SPL clubs down the seasons and also, more recently to Championship clubs. Commons and Ledley for example.

What goes round comes around. Long as he is on a long contract and a wage reflecting what we feel he is worth, then we can do no more.

I dont think we should sell anyone until one, preferably 2 more seasons are done. Ideally if we have to sell it will be after they have won the title and proved they can do respectably in the CL for a year or two. At that point their value will probably be at its peak. If guys like Izzi, Hooper, Kayal and Brown shine in the CL or even the Europa they will be worth far more. Those four are the present big money assets IMO. Others like Ki, Forrest etc might develop to be worth a good bit but not until they are established more than they are now.

I've re-watched him closely the past few performances and he is a top, top drawer full back.

To me he has the potential to be genuine world class, he's the right age and he is getting better all the time. I reckon we'll have him for another season but if he performs in the Champions League for Celtic (* willing) there is next to no chance he'll stay.

In the past 1-3 years, celtic europeans performances have been at a low, especially at utrecht at the start of the season, in the scottish league we are making literally no money, so we depend on the champions league or the europa cup at a minimum, so i say keep them for another year, see how they get on in the big games, then decide ..... a couple of years back we were getting offered 10 million for brown, He was on form at the time, we didnt take the money, I think it was a good decision from celtic, what about you ?

This guy is a cracking left-back. I'm not even thinking about selling him at the moment.

IMO Izzy is the best LB in Britain right now. We need to keep our best assets for a crack at CL next season and then see what happens but players like him and kayel dont come round to often so i would like to see US gettin a good run in Europe for a coulpe of seasons. I dont want to get too carried away but its exciting times for a change, especially what i belive this team could do in Europe imo.

I doubt that is actually true. There are a lot of big big clubs constantly linked with Broony and a lot of EPL sides seem to think he would beef them up. I think it is possible after a good run that someone would pay 8 million for Broony but Ki (especially when it looks like he will struggle to get back into the starting 11) would not raise more than 5 IMO.
