I would say 4-5-1 not because I think our STs are doing a bad job but because our midfield is very potent right now, Ki, Kayal, Ledley and Brown are all on hot streaks, put Ledley on the left, Ki at CAM, Kayal and brown in the middle and commons out right, out hooper up front and sub in sammy or stokes for someone midway thru the second Walter smith is horrible at adjusting his team mid half and requires a full half time team talk to have any effect, if we change our tempo in the second after outlasting them the first we will bang in a few

I understand that everyone thinks that Hooper and Stokes are part of our strongest team and doubtless they are, but I think that our real threat all stems from the midfield. I think having Sammy upfront, at least to start, with our five midfielders will cause as many problems as Stokes and Hooper would. I mean no offence to them or the other SPL teams but they haven't done it against rangers yet. Sammy has. And if he isn't doing it, then they can be brought on.

And I agree with you on the 451 * but i think your midfield is wrong. Keep the players to where they have been playing for the most part. Commons left, Ledly inside that, Kayal next to Ledley and Brown out right. I think Ki will come in to complete the five but not at CAM as you expect. He naturally comes deep to receive the ball from the defenders. He will play through the middle between Ledly and Kayal as a deep lying playmaker.

I think we should go 451 Sami upfront midfield four of brown Ledley kayal commons and hoops just behind Sami I thought hoops dropped deeper against Dundee utd and done well don't think the Huns will know how to deal with him there cos weir wont want to come out to him and if bougherra does I'd fancy Sami v weir all day long

4-4-2 for me i think stokes and hooper upfront together would run weir ragged. remember theyve not played together upfront yet in an old firm i think tommorows the time. let they * worry about us.

I keep changing my mind, both formations have advantages and disadvantages and just not sure what would be best. My heart says 4-4-2 and go full out attack, my head says 4-5-1 and concentrate on winning the midfield and possession battle. Whatever Lennon decides will be good enough for me though, as tactically since December/Jan he has been spot on with his decisions.

In my honest opinion, I cannot see him going with anything other than a 451 with the usual midfield four but slipping Ki into the middle. In the last game Ki was a huge part of our dominating possession.

Not sure- I want to go 4-4-2 and have a real go get a couple of goals and then go 4-5-1 shut up shop and let the midfield control the game!

Think Lenny will go 4-5-1 with Commons supporting Hooper the only problem with this formation is that Hooper is never a lone striker and Samaras plays that role the best. Stokes would be very unlucky to get dropped again! Butterflys starting to build now!!

    * it lets have a real go and show how bad that defence is!!:shamrock:

I would like us to play 4-4-2.

I would be happy if we played Samaras up front alone and Ki in the middle in a 4-5-1 as well. I would prefer not to play Hooper or Stokes up front alone, I think they're both much better with partners. The Hooper & Stokes partnership is one of the main reasons I would take the risk and go for 4-4-2.

It's a wee bit frightening the number of people that want to drop Hooper and Stokes and play the Imposter up front. :97:

Even if we start off with 4-4-2, Lennon can easily change things at half time if it isn't working out for us.

I'm a positive guy, so I'm going for 4-4-2. Like the guy above, I want to get stuck right into these * tomorrow and none of this sitting back *. I've already said it in another thread, but Nikica Jelavic is their only serious threat up front against us. If they happen to hit us on the break and get a jammy goal in the first half, we can revert back to the cautious approach and play the same way we did in the last two meetings at Ibrox. We're bound to get a goal anyway, especially playing at home. At the end of the day, Rangers are an average team playing in a sub standard league, which makes them look good.

They were found out on Thursday night, when they couldn't take their chances against a better side.

I agree totally. He was sensational against the huns last time round, but to be fair, he has been pretty hopeless most of the season. In context Hoops and Stokes have been consistently good.

Lennon only played Sammy last time due to injuries. I think is Stokes doesnt start tomorrow his confidence could be shattered. We have nothing to fear, its at home, so I hope we play our normal game.

In saying that, Lennons tic tacs this season have been pretty good.

I'll feel bad for Anthony Stokes if he gets dropped again tomorrow. That will have been 3 times in just over a month he'll have been dropped for Old Firm games. That's almost like saying 'you're a good player but not good enough to play against Rangers'. That's not a great message to send out to a player.

Stokes must be wondering what he has to do to get a chance in an Old Firm game. You never know though, tomorrow might be his day.
