It is a terrible thread title. Almost as bad as the one about Anthony Stokes.

Didn't want him tbh, he did okay when the pressure was off but thought he was too unproven for this job. Realy thought we had * up hiring him when we went out of Europe early but ever since we lost at Tynecastle he has just turned it around completely. Keep up the great work Lenny, doing a quality job just now :50:

Neil Lennon has been a breath of fresh air at the club after the last couple of seasons. He went after the job, almost begged for the chance. Since taking over he has more often than not been proved right. Had to rebuild a side out of what Tony Mowbray and WGS had left him. To do so, and bring in players such as Izzy, Hooper, Stokes, Commons, Maj, Kayal along with bringing on Rogne has been quite remarkable. I said, against many others at the start of the season that we should give him a chance, based on no more than the fact he was desperate for the job.

He isnt there yet, but a win on sunday will go a long way towards it.

With regards to Mulgrew, I felt he was no more than a back up player and was amazed when he was stuck in at CB... however, he has proved a lot of doubters wrong (me included) and has been a valuable player for us at an important time.

Brave decision from Neil as well

he's been fantastic, and i have always been and always will be behind him 100%. even if he doesn't win the league this year, it would be stupid to sack him and get a new manager as it would plunge us into deeper financial trouble and we would have to start from scratch.

Too many fans didn't give Lenny a long enough chance to start with. He brought in players that no-one was sure about but through time they have gelled well for him.

One thing about Neil Lennon is that you know week in week out you will get 100% passion and I think we will struggle to ever get a manager again with this amount of love and passion for the club.

cant fault him as celtic manager his win ratio speaks for itself and he has brought something back to celtic that has been missing for a wile a bit of drive and heart and determination , and a will to want to win :) long may his reign continue :)

Dont tell anybody, we are a disgrace in Europe, and theres no telling if we ever will be noticed there again as a viable competing club.
At the end of Gordon Strachan tenure I was glad to see him go, but it was NOT all his fault.
Do you want me to mention Tony Mowbray, and that debackle season?
We didnt spend in January, and we have not won anything yet, will we its possible, but if we dont are you going to blame Lennon, I for sure aint, but he has not been without fault himself this season already.
No you go ahead and support this BOARD, I refuse to do so and have felt this way for seasons.
They in my opinion are INEPT! :47:
About Liverpool wanting Lawwell I will believe it when or if it happens, and you can be assured he wont be doing the negotiating there anyway, their budget is far bigger and real money people will be calling the shots, not Lawwell!

lennon has been brilliant! i was nervous at his appointment firstly but didnt necessarily doubt him just apprehensive because of his experience. there's alot of good young managers out there at the highest level so why not i guess! maybe they still have that energetic fire which transcends to the players which maybe older guys cant get across, who knows but I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH!

Another reason my opinion on Lenny changed - this was previously posted on TC - sorry I can't remember who or I would have given you the credit mate. However, the following piece is from a Barcelona FC magazine translated into English:

    Scotland, Glasgow - European Scout

    Glasgow Celtic

A team steeped in tradition and a name identified with equality for all. Since the man they call the king of kings left Celtic they have arguably failed to attract high calibre players.

This summer however they appointed a man who has Celtic in his heart. Neil Lennon got the job full time after performing admirably during a caretaker role at the end of last season.

Lennon, or lenny as he is known to the fans, is a man who knows what it means to be a Celtic player. The former captain, midfield power house is now the man entrusted as custodian of the famous club.

Many managers throughout Europe are now taking note of Celtic once again. The club have gazumped many higher calibre clubs over the summer with a few surprise signings.

During the days of Martin O'Neill they were able to purchase players who had already developed. Now with their vast scouting network they are cherry picking some of the worlds top young talent, at a level of money they can afford.

Scouts from our club, AC Milan, Manchester United and Arsenal amongst others have been at there recent games and have attended their training sessions. All reports suggest that this is a club on the up, the key summer signings, unless Celtic can hang on to them, will be at the top clubs in the world within the next 2-3 years if they continue their development under Lennon.

Our own chief scout is reportedly very impressed with Kayal, Izaguirre and home grown talent James Forrest. The youth setup at the club is lauded throughout europe as an excellent study centre for youths.

The club will be sending a charge of coaches over to study the techniques that Neil Lennon has implemented into the club. The style of play that Lennon has introduced is being lauded throughout Europe by the top coaches in the game. At a recent coaching convention in Zurich Celtics transformation over the last 6 months has been held up as a way clubs should work.

Time will tell if the club will continue to progress at a rate that should see them return to their rightful place amongst the elite clubs of europe. As mentioned by the top coaches in Europe at the recent meeting in Zurich the similarities between Lennon and our own Gaurdiola are striking. Earmarked as one of the top 10 young coaches in Europe, Celtic are on the way up with this man.

Thats a very flattering article. Hopefully their predictions and expectations can be followed through by a bit of substance! Nice to know we're still held in high regard despite not being as effective as we'd like to have been in recent seasons on the european scale.
