Is Celtic striker Gary Hooper as good as £35m star Andy Carroll?

newcastle tried to sell him for 2 million a couple of seasons ago. amazing what lpool paid for him

Andy Carroll, is overrated, but, its clear, with the amount of folk that think Hooper is better, that he too is overrated

Carroll, is clearly the better player, even when he doesnt score he gives the defence massive problems, if he was in the SPL, hed score just as much as Hooper imo, but hes got more to his game than Hooper

would be some partnership mind

 

I would say Carroll is better, although £35 million is an epic fail from Liverpool's point of view.

Absolutely NOT!

 

Why not though?? Carroll played in a far better championship team and was outscored by a striker in a relegation battling team. In my opinion celtic have got the better deal as with the way we can play (when we are on our game) Carroll wouldnt fit in.

1 thing is that carrol isnt worth 35m.
and its because he was at newcastle and they where promoted; therefore playing against bigger teams and carrols achivements where highlighted more.
The question of weither he is as good as, tbh, Hoopers is playing the spl and carrol is playing the epl, soo carrol is clearly got a tougher test.

But in saying that, hooper is an outstanding player and of very high quality, we are very lucky to have the team we have the now and its due to lennons research when signing players.

Well, because Hooper plays for us and I dont like Carroll because he's * for me on FM11 i'm gonna say yes. Also Liverpool paid way over the top for Carroll, he's never worth £35m

 

Hooper is playing in a two team third rate league the SPL, and in fact Hooper is not all that good as a fitba player, for him to even get a game for the England national team would and is a * joke!

I NEVER said he wasnt a good player because he IS GOOD in a two team third rate SPL league.
I said and stand by it he isnt all that good a fitba player, and if he ever went to play in the EPL it most certainly would show guaranteed!
By the way dont be surprised if Celtic want to win the SPL title next season and are serious enough Hooper will lose his place as striker.

There's no way to know unless Hooper gets some real European time. Carroll is a great player and still getting better. He and Suarez will be deadly next season. They are also totally different players, as Carroll is more of a target man.

 

well i don't know if hooper is as good or better but carrol is very over rated, even liverpool fans are turning on him now saying he is * *

the last game of the season when i went to watch it he got loads of * about his play

i agree with some will have to wait and see what hooper can do in europe, got to remember lads if 11 goals in the first half of the EPL season makes you 35m then hooper must be worth around half of that with the other top fee's
