Celtic legend Davie Hay is to have a tribute dinner held in his honour...25 years since he led the parkhead club to the league championship

the former player said today he is delighted that his contribution is being marked in this way

this will be a celtic park on april 10th ,kenny dalglish and sir alex will be amoung the invited guests

Believe me guys this is an event worth supporting if you are in a position to do so. Davie Hay has been a real stalwart for Celtic, as a player, as a manager, and as a scout. Davie Hay, is also a true gentleman, and Celtic to the core. I remember the year we stopped ten in a row with Wim Jansen, we plaayed Dunfermline at East End Park, if we won that day, then we were the Champions. Not long before that wee McCann had sacked Davy Hay, from his scouting role at Celtic, but sitting just along from us in the stand that day, was Davie Hay,who had paid his own way into the game that day in the hope he would see his beloved Hoops stop the Huns getting ten in a row. We didn't lift the title that day, but the rest is history. Davie, in my opinion you are one of our stalwarts, good luck and thank you Davie

 

I love Davie Hay even though I never seen him play. (that rhymes)
