    True, but I'm sure he wasn't the only CB we were looking at.
    Just think we should ahve our targets identified and ready to sign by Jan not * about and wait for clubs for a month to tell us naw.

    Hopefully we don't end up with someone like Zheng Zhi or Willo Flood, last day buys just for formality. Lawwell's alibi signings.

    Even if we do sign someone by tonight I still won't understand what we were waiting for. Whole month went by and we knew defence was crippled and we still let Hooiveld out on loan.

    Still, hope we pull out a signing or two by midnight.

    coach left for aberdeen at lunchtime....unsure if lennon was on board. the players were on board as sky broadcast an update from celtic park....someone on board kept on tooting the bus horn...pretty funny actually.

    People need to be realistic, you can only really buy * in Januray since no team will sell their better players half way through a season and risk disrupting their squad. You either end up paying over the odds for average players or paying average fees for crap players. I think the club made the right decision to not give Forrest the money for Wilson, they were wanting an extortionate amount for a player with only 5 months left on his contract.

    How much is extortionate? because anything under a million would possibly be worth it! we have 2 first choice cbs injured, and this could damage the league chances!
    If we sign wilson and win the league then we make the money back and champions league money as well!
    So that could be worth it.

    I think anything up to 1 mil for Wilson would have been good business. He is sitting around down their as back up and waiting to come in a few months time, if he was to come now come the summer he will be settled and ready to go for the new season!

    Understand why we are not willing to pay the money but whats the point in wasting money on a random loan signing that will be away in 6 months, get our player in now and get him gelling with his team mates earlier.
