yeah wilson isn't a very good footballer im afraid. hes slow and too often he looks for a punt. hes just not very good to be honest. he can be asked to do a job defensively but going forward he is very very poor.

Agreed forrest needs someone to over lap him give him some help on the wing and cha has the legs and pace to get up and down the full 90mins or move Matthews across as he is a shadow of himself at lb could give el kad at lb as a natural left sided attacking full back could help as the I am sick of full backs having to cutback onto there right foot to cross and let the defender get back

Love Mark Wilson and hope he remains at the club for life. At the least, he's a strong back-up player. Until Izzy comes back, young Matthews cannot move to RB, so it's pointless.

People say, he;s playing through an injury as we're short of options....but are we?

We have Cha and El Kaddouri on the bench, and Matthew playing on the opposite fullback.

That is the position we're least short in.

I rate Wilson higher than I rate Cha. And no, it's nothing to do with the recent own goal, because in retrospect, I see that as more Forster's fault for not diving or at least running back to catch the ball. But, I don't see what some people have against Wilson. He does his job and very rarely makes mistakes. I think he's been as consistent as he possibly can be, especially when you look at some of the injuries he's had to contend with since he joined Celtic. Just one man's opinion, I guess.

He was the worst player on the park yesterday, imo.

I have nothing against wilson, it's my opinion on how his injury is affecting him.

As someones already mentioned - he is the best defensive right back here at the minute. When Izy's playing I think Wilson compliments him well because of this - so unfortunately for all the Matthew's exponents I would still give Wilson the starting berth even once Izy's fit. :50:

Fair point but Sproule would have gave Matthews a going over as well imo... as Griffiths had him in his back pocket twice in dangerous positions yesterday and he's not anywhere near as fast as Sproule. :50:

There's nothing we can do when we're struck down with so many injuries at the start of the season though. Be reasonable. Our squad was full strength going into this season and all of a sudden, we've lost Emilio, Brown, K.Wilson etc.

I feel for Mark, he was a cracking player, hopefully he still can be. But El Kaddouri is a complete nose bleed from what I've seen. I get nervous everytime the ball goes near him, obviously when the opposition have the ball, he's competent on it.

Anyone know what the status is with this bhoy? I guess the talks broke down with Leeds and he's staying here for the rest of the season. But if he can go and play with leeds surely he can play here? I miss watching him play. He was an agile right back and honestly I at least rate him better than Cha and Cha has been getting more and more games lately. I realise that Lenny has been saying that he is careful playing him with his knee injuries but again if he can go to play for Leeds surely he can play here? Id love to see him get more game time when Matthews is coming off or when Matthews is not fit etc. Hes got a goal or two in him and he was a very reliable right back. Whats the deal?

Wilson is a very under estimayed palyer- injuries aside- he could be another Mulgrew-ie fill in for more than 1 position!

I really feel sorry for him- he was terrific last season and he's had a difficult time throughout his Celtic career because of injuries. Last season was the first season where he's really been able to play virtually the entire season without getting injured and we saw what he could do, now this season he's got injured again and will find it difficult to get back in the side because of Matthews. It's a real shame because he's been a great servant to Celtic, you can see he loves the club and is a top professional. I hope we haven't seen the last of him in the Hoops.

If he ends up retiring, get him on the coaching staff! I love hearing him in interview because of how sensible and composed he is. Would love to see him playing again but maybe this for the future?

    Hail Hail

Hope we haven't seen the last of him, you can see the guy loves the club and he was brilliant last season. Cha is absolutely pish, so don't really know why Wilson hasn't made it into the squad.

When fit, he's our best right-back. The partnership between him and Brown on the right-wing last season was absolutely outstanding.
