Also the fact he kicked Lennon in the face isn't going to help him on here. Even Lineker had a dig at him on MOTD this season when Shearer was having a dig at someone kicking out. Lineker said something along the lines of "You've never kicked anyone when they've been down have you?"

Obviously Larsson, not to take away from Shearer but Larsson is the best, liked his whole attitude and the way he conducted himself on and off the park.

To be fair, John Hartson kicked Eyal Berkovic in the face. I don't think many Celtic fans held that against BBJ.

Fair point. I think maybe it's how popular the players were. Shearer is the top goalscorer in premiership history but I think most players would struggle to beat Larsson in a poll on here. If he played for us instead of Larsson there would be a lot of votes for him

Aye, nail on head I think.

I think the only player that would beat Henrik in a poll on here would be Messi.

Larson all the way brilliant team player and even better finisher and made more of an impact in europe than shearer ever did.

"not quite" ! Sorry mate shearer was easily world class as was henrik.

On the question i still think larrson was better as he could assist aswell as score, both lethal in front of goal though no matter the opposition.

I think Larssons achievements at 4 massive clubs and in Europe tip it for me.

    Shearer was world class but.

Larsson every day of the week. All round game in particular, his intelligence for example. But he done it at a higher level as well.

took my celtic hat off but still came back to larsson he played for 2 of the biggest teams in the world all be it in the twilight of his career at his peak he was a better all round player my only arguement for shearer is that when both were at there peak he played in the tougher league :celt_2:c t i d:celt_2:

Larsson had more to his game and achieved far more in his career.

He had 2 good feet, was quick, had skill, killer instinct, brilliant positional sense, incredibly brave, was unselfish and had a heading ability that was almost inexplicable for such a wee guy.

Won the Champions League, World Cup semi-final and countless domestic honours with Celtic and Barca.

As great as Shearer was, he only ever won the premiership once with Blackburn and only really had one great international tournament, in his own backyard at Euro 96. I think he stagnated and was far too loyal to Newcastle, who knows what he might have achieved had he moved on.
