They'll be jumpin' oot the windees whin we win!
Celtic will not suffer any consequences if their fans are reported for
offensive singing during Sunday's Bank of Scotland Premier League clash with St
    Mirren.
The SPL would not confirm if the report from their delegate had mentioned any
actions of the away support at Love Street.
SPL chief executive Ian Blair had earlier revealed the body was working on a
set of guidelines for punishing sectarianism.
A spokesman for the league said: ``I'm not sure if we have received a report.
``But it's not something that we would be commenting on publicly.
``We have various issued flagged up by these reports and we take them up with
    the clubs concerned.
``An issue like this would be taken up privately with the club.''
And the official hinted it would be unlikely sectarian offences this season
would affect any punishments handed out when the new rules come into place next
    term.
Blair confirmed clubs found guilty of sectarian offences could be subject to
fines or points deduction from next season.
He said: ``We haven't decided on how we realise any change. It is all still to
be agreed and will have to be approved by the clubs.
``We are working with the clubs on this and making a lot of progress.''
The St Mirren stadium announcer urged the home fans not to respond to
sectarian songs being sung by Hoops supporters during Celtic's 3-1 win.

Problem is that although we often use the word sectarian to mean bigot etc, the technical definition of the word is actually not neccessarily a negative one and simply refers to having non-mainstream views or identity. The definition of sectarian primarily means to belong to a sect and the definition of a sect is 'A group of people forming a distinct unit within a larger group by virtue of certain refinements or distinctions of belief or practice'. So, technically, anything that is not establishment majority mainstream is technically sectarian. Scary eh!

This what i love some people think that if we sing the BOTOB that UEFA are gonna swoop over Celtic park in b-52 stealth bomber and obliterate us.Fact is people this is not true,it's upto the SFA to deal with and currently they don't have the powers to do anything until next season ,we could go to every park on the spl tour wear ski masks and sing whatever we want and they couldn't do anything

Look at Italy people hang out fascist banners and sing anti-semitic chants and UEFA doesn't do anything because it is up to the Italian Fa to deal with it not UEFA.

What is a sectarian song anyway, not many celtic songs in my opinion are sectarian, political yes, not sectarian.

BOTOB has no place whatsoever at a football match. It's an embarrasment.
I can sing rebel songs with the best of them but there's a time and a place and inside a football ground is neither.

Murdi has spoken and he is right

Let the people sing, of course, but sing songs that bring pleasure and honour to our name

BOTOB has no place at a football game. We the Celtic support have moved on. You bring shame on our name when you deliberately sing Rebel songs. We don't need it we have so many great songs, and supporters. Enhance our name, don't damage it.

Just out of interest regarding this 'enhance our name' stuff. Who actually cares about Celtic other than us? I remember our fans winning an award for our behaviour in the UEFA Cup Final in Seville. Other fans just said that these are handed out to everyone. No one actually cares about anything good we do, just the bad as this is what sells the papers.

Theres no place for any religous songs at football.... but i dont want to get into the argument.

The thing that got me is when i started our chorus of Flower of Scotland. and celtic BOOED IT!! Why * boo a song about your own country, most of you are scottish, celtic are a beleive it or not SCOTTISH club!! and you booed your own national anthem. that * me right off

Maybe thats to do that when Celtic players have played for Scotland in the past they were boooeed as soon as they touched the ball, some Celtic players didn't even get picked because they played for Celtic.

Look at Jimmy Johnstone as good a winger as George Best and he only got 23 measly caps.

    what is that all about?
