such a rediculous statement to make, i am a season ticket holder, and i live in Ireland, obviously i wouldn't be able to make every game, for obvious reasons, so because i cant get there every home game im not a true celtic fan??? seriously mate wise up, there are many season ticket holders out there that cant make every game, but they go out of their way to buy a season ticket, some so they can guarantee the old firms and choose which other teams to go and see such as hearts, hibs, dundee etc etc, just because any fan season ticket holder or not does not attend every game does not make them less of a fan than someone who attends every game.

its even worse over at ipox, a few years ago they were getting over a million fans at cup finals in manchester now they get 14,000 for cup games. You wanna see glory hunters keep an eye south of the river, if we can win this league they will sell no more than 20,000 season books.

Agree with LB - don't try to guess everyone's motives for going along or not going along but appreciate the 'where's the loyalty' angle.

I'm in two minds about this one......on one hand I hate the depoliticisation of Celtic, and the systematic dismantling of our Irishness by the Celtic Board over the last 20 years. Without this we are the same as any other Football Club. I believe that as each year passes less and less Celtic fans who attend CP are politically aware or have any affinity for our Irish roots. For me, Celtic are an Irish club playing in Scotland, much the same as Athletico Bilbao are a Basque club playing in Spain.

I like to see the stadium full however. My biggest issue is that a lot of the supporters who attend seemed to be "football snobs", complaining if we are only winning 1-0 or continually slagging off the players. I remember watching truly shocking football at CP for many years, coming 4th some years was an achievement. I did not care however and loved every minute watching the Hoops.

I know many on this forum disagree with me and feel politics should not be part of football, however this is not the Celtic I knew.

I think if the 20,000 - 30,000 fans who attend when we are winning should respect those who support Celtic at CP whatever the score is or where we are in the league.

have u seen a handsome hun
in my section (408 upper north ) i know of five gentlemen who are quite old...who couldnt bare the cold over the winter and have been missing. if you equate that number around the stadium thats quite a few for a reasonable excuse not to attend. lets face it some matches have been an endurance test when it comes to the bleak weather.

I would seriously go to every game if i could afford it - but as it is with many at the moment iv got to pick an choose games, and obviously the bigger games get preference.

Is that glory hunting? Id call it common sense

Stupid thread tbh. I was well chuffed to see a good attendance on Saturday and long may it continue. To call your fellow Celtic supporters "glory hunters" is abit harsh but fair enough entitled to your opinion.

Like an earlier poster said, moan when the attendance is poor, moan when its healthy, suppose you can't keep everybody happy all of the time eh?

is nice to see you call people glory hunters although you haven't taken into consideration that the weather has been shocking lately.
also a lot of older people tend not to want to sit in freezing cold weather for 2 hours.
And if you consider most of the fans that have season tickets to be glory hunters you must be a sad little person

My supporters club has 8 tickets in those leather seats in the JS stand, there are other clubs from Ireland with tickets in those sections, there are people from all over Scotland and the UK with tickets in those sections yet you just automatically assume they deserted the team, people have many reasons for not going to the games - even those with more expensive tickets - so it's completely unfair to charge them all as being glory hunters.

Do we have glory hunters - yes undoubtly so.
Are all fans who've not been recently glory hunters - definately not.

Why can't fans just accept that not all fans can attend all games without implying they are glory hunters, in case you hadn't noticed we haven't actually won anything yet and typically glory hunters tend to come out of the woodwork after the team wins something.

    glory hunters lol *.OFF.

Glory hunters for not wanting to watch pish football? and actually PAY for it?

I'm a kings of leon fan. Bought Because these times - because I liked it and then bough only by night - again because I liked it.
I'm currently undecided on wether or not I'm a fan of their new stuff.. so I haven't bought that album... does that make me a glory hunter?.. or a fan? Why's football any different to anything else?
If they're Glory hunters.. then what are people who don't go to many games at all? not fans at all?

Oppo was Aberdeen, a more attractive fixture naturally to people. That and they bring a little more away fans than most sides

there hasnt been any glory yet so to call fans who might have needed the cash for christmas glory hunters a bit harsh.
