I don't recall blaming the SFA for this did I??

I'm not going to sit here and slate Neil Lennon for what happened last night when I haven't even seen the incident. Especially when I've already seen referees over-reacting towards him this season.

Neil occasionally crosses the line between passion/aggression, he'll learn to change that in time, but people are making his conduct out to be worse than it actually is imo.

Whether you think this is slating Lennon or not!
This cant go on, and apparently it is, whether Lenny is right wrong or indifferent, it will be a continued struggle and battle with officials and others in fitba, and he wont win, and it will affect the team and club!

Awesome news. Welcome to TC. Hopefully your lad got a taste of what it might be like to run out at Paradise with 60 000 Hoops cheering him on. Hopefully he keeps working hard. :50:

So if Neil Lennon is in the right but gets sent to the stand by an over-officious referee then he should change his ways and just do what he's told? Sorry but no.

It's unfortunate that he got sent to the stand last night but without seeing the incident I am not going to criticise Neil Lennon's part in it.

Been away all weekend. Lennon sent to the stands in a friendly? That's just embarrassing, seriously.

If what lennon done was that wrong i dont see why the bilbao players would be at the ref asking for lennon to stay on the touchline

    Hi mates:

This picture is the moment when tha captain of the team whhich has not visited before our stadium, gives some flowers to "pichichi", an old famous player of early century XX.

Once again thank you all the celtic fans who were yesterday in Bilbao. All the day was wonderfull, a lot of photos, a lot of chants, . It was a big pleasure.

The stadium singing "Celtic,Celtic" and your fans to Athletic, Athletic! For me was unforgetable, my two teams, my two t-shirts together in a lovely atmosphere!

Here in Bilbao you have a lot of friends.

    Hail Hoops!!
    Gora Athletic!!

Bilbao fans praised for their wonderful welcome to Celtic
By: Newsroom Staff on 28 Mar, 2011 09:58
CELTIC’S visit to Bilbao at the weekend was a resounding success, both on and off the park, forging strong and lasting links of friendship between both clubs.

The match itself finished 0-0, with several young Celtic Youth Academy players making their first-team debuts, and acquitting themselves very well.

And at the end of the game, as the Celtic players made a lap of honour, which saw the entire sell-out crowd applauding them and chanting ‘CELTIC!’, manager Neil Lennon took some of the shirts from his players and threw them into the crowd as a gesture of thanks to the Bilbao fans for the wonderful reception that the Celtic team and supporters had received throughout their time in the city and during the game.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “We would very much like to thank Athletic Bilbao and the people of the city for making Celtic and our supporters so welcome.

“The match was a magnificent occasion and demonstrated all that is good about two great clubs coming together for a very worthy cause.

“A true family event, the match was played in a great spirit and the reception our players received from the home crowd and from our own very dedicated supporters who made the trip was fantastic.

“Celtic is pleased to already have a close connection with a number of clubs throughout Europe and we are sure that we will enjoy a lasting relationship with Athletic Bilbao following such a positive experience.

“It is also important also that we applaud our young players who represented the Club on Saturday.

“Each and every one of them was a credit to the club and we are sure this experience will stay with them for a long time and, of course, assist in their future development in striving to be regular first-team Celtic players.”

    What a Day.........

First, the match was historical for me, Athletic and Celtic supporter, when I have to go to glasgow due to work, from 95 and several times a year, I remake all the work in order to have the sat free, to go to Celtic Park, usually casual with my celtic scarf, but the next one I wear my athletic jersey.

second, the atmosphere was great, chants and cheers, flags, supporters and jerseys mixes with scrves...really crazy, you cannot say who´s who athletic or celtic supporter....brillant!! I didnt see so quantity of Celtic jerseys in Bilbao-and, no, Im not talking about the scottish people, but the Bilbao´s people!!! In my pub, "the Pipers" Algorta usually see three or four lads with the hoops jersey, Im sure now I will see more and more..great!!

Third, Lads, the ref is known here, and...yes he is from Bilbao...:54:, despite the players comments and prays to considerate the sent off order to Lennon, he doesnt thought again...is a blockhead, and a whistle "starlette"...a little showman. Too much for a friendly match.
Latter on, in the Celtic fiesta at "Dubliners", I had the pleasure to talk with Lennon and take a couple of pictures with him, really charming gentleman.

I heard the words about "haste ye back at Celtic Park", from the celtic staff......Definitively my dream, travel with my friends and show them your nice town and pubs, I ll be shocked all the weekend if it happens one day...
All the best and thanks again to all the Celtic supporters visited us last weekend, first in a row of a lot of crossed visits.

    Jamie
