Sorry I don't agree. It's no longer a part of this Football Club. Save it for the parties and bars but not at the ground. I don't want to have to explain to my kids when they get older that the songs sung have nothing to do with thier team.
We have some great Football songs, some of the best in fact. Lets stick to them eh

Let the people sing??...should we take the tricolour over the north stand down too???Should the Celtic shop stop selling tricolours as well......it's not the point whether you think it should be sung or not, the fact of the matter is it's not a sectarian song and the lads in the GB should nae have been kicked out for singing it
It has not been proscribed by the club so they are free to sing whatever they want

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but to be ejected from a football stadium for singing a Country's anthem, is ludicrous:47:

I take your point Jimmie O'. This area of right and wrong songs that are allowed is not clear. Times are changing at Celtic and to let go of some of the songs is not easy or liked by many.
    BUT
How are supporters meant to know what is allowed or not and unless a list of banned songs is displayed at the ground an publicly announced. So I agree you can't evict unless you know what is allowed and banned

    what??????

if it wasn't for the irish celtic would not be as big a club, or even a club for that matter.

and you disagree that it's a disgrace to be thrown out of the ground for singing the soliers song?????

if this did indeed happen, i think all fans from ireland, and any right minded celtic fans should start boycotting games.

this, if true, has angered me more than anything to ever happen to celtic fans.

i've written an email demanding to know if this is true, and that if it is true then i will not be back to parkhead or buy any official celtic merchandise until this matter is resolved.

away games would be the only time i'd be going as i'll be supporting the team and not the people that run the club.

this is as angry i've been as a celtic fan.

Its the context that its sung in, the song itself isnt sectarian but the behviour of the fans singing it probably left alot to be desired.

I dont see what the Irish National Anthem has got to do with football anyways, singing it at a during a sporting event where an irish team isnt involved, in the context, has another motive.

Its all about the context a song is being sung in.

If the Fields of Athenry is sung correctly, then its fine. Irish people sing it at all sporting events they attend. YNWA is another sports accepted song.

Amhrán na bhFiann being sung is like Rangers singing * save the Queen. People are on the wind up, and it draws a negetive reaction from people and thats the problem

you wanna drive away the irsh fans????
the irish fans are also the biggest reason by far we can boast fans from all around the world. does the club wanna start alienating all the fans.

i totally disagree. i personally sing it (in irish by the way) because i'm cheering on a team that has a pround irish connection. i'd sing along to flower of scotland if celtic fans were to sing it too (i'd need to learn the words though).

fans always sing songs to wind other fans up, as long as they are not sectarian then there's usually no harm in them.

should we stop singing ha ha (to tune of hello hello) when we play rangers??????
