    Emilio has been far better than Naylor was in 06/07 IMO, thought Naylor was overrated that season by many.

    I think there were some concerns about his positional sense in a couple of games this season. I have never seen a FB play so advanced for Celtic. Its pretty extreme and it makes it hard to get a handle on him in terms of his core LB duties. I certainly think in Naylors first season Naylor was far more prominent than Izz defensively, with a lot of clever tucking in etc to save our *. Not sure I have seen enough of that from Izz as yet. Must say, the guy is an amazing attacker though and its almost surprising he is not a MF or winger by trade.

    Terrific full back the best we have had in this position for years. Looks so calm and assured and also a good defender and is able to stop crosses getting into the box.

    I will say though, to disagree with a few in this thread, he has played poorly a couple of times. St Johnstone 1st game when Mulgrew came on for him, for example. However, this just goes to show how he is already adapting and improving because he has grown from that performance into probably the most consistently good player at the club.

    =i disnt saw naylor play, but i think izzy can defend too,ye
    t is true that you say that sometimes he go out alot that may leave some spaces, but i think izzy better like that ;)

    = well he can be very eplosive with McCourt, lennon knows that and the times i see him defend i think he is doing a good job mate.

    Emilio is a great representative of Honduran football. He has been very consistent for Celtic since he joined us and if it wasn't for him, last weekend's derby could have turned out very different. He cleared Lee McCulloch's header off the line five minutes into the game and it's lucky that he did. I hope he keeps up the good work, as he has been nothing short of brilliant during his short time in Glasgow.

    well i saw celtic cup match today and i didnt see emilio on bench well at least i didnt see him, what you think, lenon may be care of him, or he is kind of injure?

    think he was just being rested, he came back straight from an injury a couple of weeks ago and played non stop since.

    He was just rested pal, quite rightly too we need him most as I don't trust Mulgrew at let back so he's the only player without good cover.

    Paired him with Paddy ,reason being Maloneys is never fit and im not a fan of his ,and Mulgrew isnt a Midfielder .

    Izzy is a work horse up and down that wing all day and that would enable Paddy a bit of freedom to wander and i would have Paddy in my first team every game.

    Lenny was only resting him mate..Berwick arent exactly a team you need to play all of your good players against and it was also just to get Mulgrew some gametime in LB :50: Emilio will start the next game mate :icon_mrgreen:
