A very fair point and observation. That was a very young Celtic side out there tonight. Hopefully though we will also have VOH, Wilson and Gravesen back soon as that would help a lot.
We were all loving life over the last couple of months and rightly so. This result and display tonight certainly was a very poor one but in the grand scheme of things we are still in with a good chance of making the last 16 going into the last 2 group games and overall are in good shape as a team.

I think the preparation and tactics for this game were wrong. People are trying to write off this performance to a freak number of things like Caldwell's mistakes, and media hype, our previous away form, statistics, the players inexpierence in the CL.

How many of our team are capped internationally, alot of our lads have played good sides before in big matches. Strachan chose the wrong tactics and choose the wrong starting 11 for the tactics he did use.

Caldwell made the mistakes but the team performance was so bad, you cannot make a scapegoat out of him. I expected more from us. Strachan is usually on the money when it comes to tactics and selection but you cant get it right every night

i think the reasson we lost was bad defending if you look at the game we were not under lots of pressure and just gave away supid goals at the wrong time

I said it immediately after the home game against Benfica: we still had less than a 50% chance of getting out of this group based on our away form. We got way, way carried away after that game...remember we've been in strong positions several times after home games and we've blown every time away from home. I couldn't believe how readily people chose tae forget that in the excitment.

At this stage I wouldn't be too gutted with the UEFA cup cause if results go against us in round 5 things could get real ugly. * help us if we're in the position of having to get something from Copenhagen to save us.

That maybe the history of our away form but we should be looking to change it not accept it. We are a better team than last night, we'll just have to break this away form voodoo * against Copenhagen.

We were a better team than we showed away to Anderlecht, away to Rosenborg, away to Shaktar, away to Porto, or away to Artmedia for that matter. But we got humped anyway. It's * embarrasing. There's no reason to believe anything'll change against Copenhagen. It just seems embeded in the players PSYCHE - 'we are pish away from home'.

You know, a weight lifter can be hypnotised and made to believe he canny lift a pencil and once he believes it, no matter how hard he tries he canny lift it...he'll use the table for leverage, he'll strain, he'll pop blood vessels but he canny lift it. We've been hypnostised into never winning an away game. No matter how hard we try or how well we play we'll * it up... :37::37:

All those teams are like us at home and on form those years except Bratislava that was down to a new change in management.

I dont accept "We just can't win away from home in the CL" as a reason for not getting results. I'm annoyed that people on here find it accpetable or even reasonable.

agreed , we need to banish this mindset , we are celtic , if we attack teams on their patch like we do at home we will win more than we will lose. plus, we defended with an attacking team ,confused me any way
